Does anyone know if running games off an external SDD improves loading (like on PS3)

if you get the basic model and use an external SDD, are you able to install all the same apps and FW updates as per the premium?

i am finding it hard to get hold of the premium but have a spare SDD disk and caddy.

Am i of the understanding that the Wii U uses a new shop? so all the content that was on the Wii store is now missing?

You can access the Wii store via the Wii menu on the Wii U. You can't use the gamepad for Wii stuff though, alas.

Cant see why not. Definately worth it for ps3, an intel 330 is a noticeable improvement on mine.

Do you have to install games on Wii?

An external SSD may well be limited by the USB slot, depending on how Ninty have it set up.

Only downloaded stuff .. You cant install games from disc to HDD like you can with the 360 .. hopefully that will change in the future,

1 week on , time has really flown by quick . Had such an amazing time with new system , thank you Nintendo for bringing back true multiplayer gaming to the living room again and in new innovative ways , you won't have more fun on any game this year than with 3,4 friends over on Nintendoland , the system is worth buying for that game alone . Nintendo you have done it again , the future is very bright for us with the approach Nintendo are taking

could not be more wrong about a game series it's pure genius and the fact it's not spammed out with loads of games makes it even more special , We are all desperate to play it but at least they are taking their time to get it as perfect as possible.

We all have known the launch window games for some time , I simply ask why Did you buy one right now ? And keep posting bad stuff about the wii , You could have simply waited 6 months or beyond when more games are out or announced . 90% of people who invested in a wii u I have spoken to are very happy with a new console experience. And with the great launch titles and with so much to look foward to its a great time to be a Nintendo gamer

I would be very happy if they announce intentions of bringing the Virtual Console over from Wii to Wii U plus make Gamecube games available, ideally before Xmas, that would be impressive

Don't all the WiiU controllers have digital triggers though? The gamecube's are analog so there'd be some games they couldn't do I imagine. A chance for Nintendo to make a few more quid with a Wii U Gamecube controller!

Yeah. Its my one issue with the GamePad and Pro Pad; digital triggers. They're good to use but I feel racers will suffer.

By racers I mean more realistic racers but I don't remember the last time there was one of those on Nintendo console?

This just sums up that a system appeals if you like the games that are available.

Nintendoland has zero appeal for me, and the first Pikmin I just couldn't get on with at all, bored me silly.

However, reading what you just posted again really makes me want to try it out again, and Nintendoland.

No its not there forte so I am not too bothered regarding analogue triggers are concerned, however there are also other games that might use them like flight sims for example, so it is a bit of an ommission. They could have least have put them on the Pro Controller ...

Just seen 2 TV ads for Just Dance 4.

"Blah, blah, blah, Just Dance 4 on Wii U. Also available on Wii".

Then 3 ads later you get:

"Blah' blah, blah, Just Dance 4 on Wii".

You go confuse your audience Nintendo. Same game, 2 consoles with similar names, parents who aren't really paying attention. I see problems on Xmas day.
