I bought a Wii U when they announced Wind Waker HD a few weeks ago and it's been sat boxed-up in my hallway for over a week now. I ordered it, looked at what games are out for it while waiting for it to be delivered and quickly realised there is NOTHING I want to play on it right now. I'm not saying there's no good games, I like The Cave, but I already have that on 360 and I just have no interest in Arkham Asylum, FIFA, etc. Even if I did I'd have played them on 360 already? Infact anyone who says the Wii U's game library justifies a purchase today is deluded and undeniably a "fanboy" all the good games are available on 360/PS3 and NSMBU in 1080p isn't worth ?200+ more than NSMBW in 480p. Nor is Zombi U a ?300+ game when you can pick up Left 4 Dead/Dead Island etc for ?10.
BUT when Rayman Legends hits I'll start using my Wii U, then Pikmin 3 comes out I'll start to feel like Wii U ownership makes sense and by the end of the year hopefully we'll have Wind Waker HD, Earthbound and Yoshi's Island on VC, maybe even Yarn Yoshi and a few EAD gems at which point the Wii U will be highly recommendable and I'll be saying it's only a "core" Street Fighter game and a decent fightstick away from being the only console I ever need. The Wii U IS good value but not for what it does today. The only reason to buy a Wii U today is for the knowledge you have it ready for what's to come. Anyone who says any different is just deluded or a fanboy of the worst variety really... And I'm a Nintendo fangirl, I'll argue black and blue about the quality of Nintendo's AAA Franchises, they just haven't been any console ones to get all excited and rose-tinted about in a long time (at least since Skyward Sword)... :/
