And who was the guy, yes the guy that brought the homebrew channel hack to the Wii.

Well I'm loving the machinepersonally I think the gamepad is classic Nintendo and thank them for trying something new in today's stagnant gaming market.
All this talk about cpu speed is the same as when the super famicom launched and the press started criticizing the processor for being too slow at 21MHz but it's effective speed was 3.58MHz early games such as gradius 3 had some horrific slow down at first but we all know how many classics came out in its life span

The lack of audio options (i.e. only supporting 5.1 via Linear PCM) is because Nintendo didn't want to pay the licensing fees required to offer Dolby Digital or DTS and similar standards. I wouldn't expect this is something that will come from a firmware update. Obviously, LPCM is lossless and uncompressed so is a great option, but it's only available via HDMI so if you have an oldish receiver you won't be able to support it.
The Wii 50hz only via HDMI thing is absolutely shocking if true.

I had Youtube crash on me when I tried it this morning .. In fact it doesn't seem to work at all at the moment.
I haven't had any signifcant WiFi issues so far.
To me the gamepad screen looks great, not noticing any colour issues mself, but then I haven't tried it with games etc yet.
The menu system speeed is a little on the slow side, depending on where you are gonig to and from, but its not as bad as being made out.
Limited range RGB is a pisser, and I really hope that isn't a hardware limitation, otherwise Nintendo will have shot themselves in the foot.
I do love the fact I can just turn the console on without having to fire up the PJ in order to check / download things, that is the one thing that annoys me about the 360 and PS3. The fact that yuo can do it all from the sofa, and control your TV as well if you like is a master stroke from Nintendo, in its execution as least.
