Its a fair thing to say .... Unless you have experienced every single generation of games you can't call yourself a true gamer. You can't have the complete picture of what is the games industry unless you have played games for all those generations.

People call themselves gamers because they have been playing COD for the last 5 years or so ... its pretty pathetic really, not saying they don't deserve an opinion but you cannot be a true gamer unless you have spent a significant amount of time playing games over various generations.

So yes I know more about games because I have playing them for nigh on 30 years.

I've been having my brain re-wired. So much so that my single only console is now a PAL Wii U. A PAL Wii U, which I will only buy one game at a time for. Should be easy given Nintendo's track record for releases.

What is to say that a 12 year old couldn't sit and play games from every generation via emulation on his PC, as well as modern games? Would he qualify as a 'true' gamer, if he had bothered to sit and play games from the mid 80s up to the present? What even is a 'true' gamer? What kind of retarded elitism is this? Do we have 'true' readers and 'true' movie watchers? 'True' football fans?

In all seriousness why do you keep peddling this ****, the WiiU is not LESS POWERFUL than the PS3, get your head out of your arse and stop talking crap. And I would take a 3DS over an Android tablet any day of the week regardless of how much more powerful it is.

Was there any need to be so offensive? Tbh we still don't know the full spec of the machine - all we know is that there's nothing that demonstrates what it can do (lacklustre ports aside) I'm glad your happy with your 3DS, but if you boil it down it's simply not value for money.

If you are so obsessed with power then buy a PS4 and be happy in the knowledge that your ?400+ console is the best thing since sliced bread, and that all the games will be better than anything else on the market.

I haven't seen the price confirmed for the PS4 - unless your a Sony insider? Don't worry I intend to buy a PS4. Even if it does cost that much it will be value for money and well supported by Sony 1st party developers and 3rd parties alike - so it's unlikely to gather dust unlike Nintendo's devices.

You say your not a mug except you bought a WiiU so what does that make you exactly? We get it , you don't like the WiiU and you don't like Nintendo, so go back to your non Nintendo threads and leave this thread to the people who actually want to talk sense rather than the nonsense you keep talking.

I'm definitely a mug, I've been stupid enough to buy all of Nintendo's devices since the DS. I'm glad that people can understand where I'm coming from - however if I have an opinion I will feel free to express it regardless whether you would like to read it or not.

Maybe if you simply have a 15 second dabble in a single game from each generation would you qualify for the 'True Gamer (5gs)' title.

How can a Nintendo device not get used? Why would you buy one with no intention of playing it? Surely you'd know you were in for a wait for the 'goods' (TW101, Pikmin 3, Bayo 2) to arrive? With those three titles alone I reckon you'd be looking at around 300 hours of game time. Until then though, why even bother? I haven't; and I proper bum Nintendo.

30 years! Don't make me laugh! My mother is 57 this year and has been gaming for nearly 40! She still has her first console - "Bingo" which played 4 different variations of Pong, all controlled with a twist controller. She's currently saving for a 3DS XL for when Animal Crossing comes out.
