Well got my Wii U with MHU. Loving it so far, but the online part is like something from 2004. Had to watch a video in the end so i could join a couple of friends online (take quest, read notice board) How about a would you like to join? pop up.

2004 is actually right, although originally each room could hold 10 people, not just the 4 you get these days.

Is it greatly different from the Wii iteration gameplay, graphically and sonically?

Looks better, sounds better. MH gameplay doesn't vary much.

I'd considered that myself, but those rear screw holes are likely designed for an official add-on, so it won't be useable with the extended battery pack.
