That is just a one day deal.

Nice to see it at a price more appealing to the wallet. And was guaranteed to happen once I bought one last Friday.

How many months has it been out now and still the shelves are filled with launch games.

I sold mine because there was so little new content for it (that was months ago) and it seems very little has changed. What a way to promote a 'new' console.

More mario and sonic? No thanks

I thought it was a great article. No one is denying that it's a **** up by Nintendo (and they're certainly paying the price), but the article provides an excellent rationale for why they have allowed this situation to occur - because their franchises are simply too valuable to rush out a game and risk it being subpar.

If you don't like Mario games (or Mario Kart games, or Kirby games, or Zelda games), don't buy a Nintendo console. There's no point. The entire purpose of buying a Nintendo console is to be able to buy those games. Many years ago Nintendo may have been the home of premier third party experiences, but those days are long gone - the fact of the matter is that Nintendo's games are of such a consistent quality and hold such an enduring appeal that their consoles are successful solely on the basis of their exclusivity.

I haven't got a Wii U yet but I'm on the verge of grabbing one. I do feel for those who bought one last Xmas (and are still holding onto it), as it's been an absolutely sorry state of affairs.

EDIT: A great example of the reverse of this strategy is Sony's with the Vita. Desperate for standout titles, they had a developer formally known only for PlayStation Move Heroes develop and ship a Resistance game AND a CoD game inside 12 months. Both games were unsurprisingly absolutely atrocious - CoD Black Ops Declassified in particular is a sh*t stain on the entire entertainment medium of videogames. I felt genuinely betrayed when I played it, and I would much rather have had no CoD game at all, or at the very least seen Sony push the release date back a full 12 months.

Nintendo would NEVER have a cheap dev team make a sh*tty, buggy, horribly designed Mario or Zelda game inside 6 months and release it.* It just wouldn't happen. They'd rather have nothing on shelves.

That shows a commitment and legitimacy that I personally admire

*yes yes the CDi, but that was 20 odd years ago - and besides, aren't they meant to be quite underrated?

Soon I'd imagine. It's 60fps too. Blatant Scud Race/Daytona/Virtua Racing etc rip-off, but who gives a ****? It looks awesome.

Can't wait for this one after seeing it on Nintendo life months ago.Looked awesome loved scud race and never got a home version shame as the excellent Daytona version was superb for me

It's a pure arcade racer. Right up my street. Three cars, and three tracks. I hope the price reflects this. There's no way in hell I'm dropping 40 notes on it. I highly doubt it has online play too, though eight-player racing would be ****ing awesome.

It's an eShop title, so I guess ?8.99 or similar? don't know what the highest priced non-retail game is on there? Know it's at least ?8.99.

This is an old article but looks like it could be a decent racer too

Speaking of eShop, anyone else bought Nano Assault Neo? it's a quality game, reminds me Super Stardust on the PS3, Vita etc, only better.

DavidH, we're all big fans of NAN. We covered our love back in the first WiiU thread.
I still find playing on the pad better though.

Dat Dungeons and Dragons game coming this month

Ah I see thanks. Need to add some of you as friends to compare scores.

An update on that Project Cars game link I posted last night, not due out until 2014 though sadly.
