Anyone had trouble getting Wii U premium points for virtual console games? Bought Mario World since it should give enough points for me to get a ?5 activation code, but over 24 hours later and no points. Those 30p games gave me points so surely SMW should. Annoying.

Just to check, what do I to be able to play Wii games on the Wii U?
Or do they just work with the Wii U gamepad?

You need a Wiimote etc. You play them exactly as you would on a Wii.

Do I need a Wii sensor bar also or does the Wii U come with one?

              The premium Wii U does.

Does the Wii U pad drain batteries constantly like the Wii remotes? I'm so bored of taking batteries out of the wii remotes and wiifit board when not using them. By the way, there's a fitscales app on android that lets you use the board as an Internet Scales device

It drains fair fast, about 3 hours but its an internal rechargable battery this time

Sorry, I meant does it drain even when "off"? If you leave the wiimotes lying around for a couple of weeks with rechargeable batteries in them, the batteries are dead. Not a problem for alkelines, but with rechargeables, the batteries risk failure due to the extreme charge reduction (they might refuse to recharge).

Ok looking at the Nintendo site, I think I am ok the basic model comes with a sensor bar.

The white WiiU does not come with a sensor bar.

Just buy a wireless sensor bar for ?5 from Ebay or wherever. It's an extremely simple piece of equipment, it doesn't actually 'sense' anything. All it does is fire two infrared beams constantly - you can get the exact same functionality by taking 2 standard TV remotes, taping down a button and each and putting them in front of your TV facing you. Or you can light two candles and put them in front of you TV. Both of those will make a wiimote work perfectly.

So basically quality isn't an issue here.
