Yeah I just looked at the individual eShop entries for games all 17 VC games in my download/purchase history and all say "This is the US version of the game" except:

Balloon Fight which says: "This is the European version of the game. It has been optimised to run at a similar speed to the US version and with the corrected aspect ratio."

    and

Kirby's Adventure and Super Metroid which say: This is the European version of the game, which was optimised originally by the developers to offer gameplay and music speed similar to the US version. Demos and animations may run at PAL speed. The aspect ratio has been corrected for this release."

Doesn't sound too bad but would still be nice if in the UK we could just get 100% US versions, goddamn EU, where's Nigel Farage when you need him?

In other news, new Dragon Quest game has boosted Wii U sales over in Japan more than the new Mario game managed a couple of weeks back.

Not everyone has the room nor inclination to have a full library.

Even if you didn't have a full library, would you not have Zelda 3? Really?

Or wouldn't they have a US Wii U?

I dont own lttp at present, i'm well beyond collecting carts, and the VC release would be the most convenient...were it not for 50hz.

I've played the game to death, so its no bother in that respect.

The point is its a small concession, and given the already high pricing on VC games, and the fact that they have given most other significant releases the US NTSC treatment...its just shady.

A ROM would be the most convenient. With a Buffalo USB SFC pad.

Anyone who is hardcore/faithful etc wouldn't be bothered in the slightest about this release I'd imagine. They'll either already own it or have access to it in another form. Anybody playing for the first time probably has no idea what 60Hz even is.

Or you can just mod a proper SFC/SNES pad to usb using a kit it's piss easy. No need for shoddy 3rd party efforts. The only downside is my Super famicom no longer has any pads for it, not that i plug the real thing in anymore. If i need a pre N64 gaming fix i just power up the PC.

The VC got old really quick.

If you're going the ROM route you may as well just grab an Everdrive. Then you can at least plug the machine into your wicked sick Sony Trinitron that you own rather than some rubbish LCD.

I dont connect my pc to my tv, and i hate sitting at a computer desk for any length of time.

And if nobody is bothered by 60hz then why is it nintendo have bowed to pressure for other releases in 60hz?

Quite clearly there are loads of people(you only need to see comments on this very forum) who want 60hz VC releases.

This 50hz is okay attitude is backward.

I think it's more that they just use the US ROMs in a cost-cutting exercise rather than bowing to pressure. Nintendo do not bow to pressure. Ever.

Yeah, so they'll put two seperate sets of ROMs up instead of just one unless they absolutely have to. Yeah ok tata.

Why do you think Japanese and American Nintendo hardware is exactly the same other than a physical switch up until the Wii?

Kirby's Adventure and Harvest Moon is also 50hz despite it not getting a UK release first time around.

Just update RG with a blog feature on how much Wii U 50hz games suck, feel free to pass it round the net I would like to get Nintendo's of Europe attention. As they need to fix this stuff for good, I for one am getting tired of complaining to them.
