Tried this along with Zelda 3DS and Pokemon at the Nintendo... thing in the Arndale centre in Manchester. Played with my wee man, we both loved it, but he wants Pokemon for Xmas, so this will have to wait for now.

Each review raves about it, just read the Joystiq one

You should buy my Wii U I reckon.
              Kept you waiting, huh?

Why oh why oh WHY didn't Nintendo EAD have this ready for the Wii U at launch?

It's not like the basic game engine/framework (from Super Mario 3D Land) wasn't already there.

Nobody would have bought NSMBU then.

Well as wonderful a launch title this would have made i think it will be much more appreicated by Wii U owners who have waited for a Mario game of this quality to come around.

And that's a bad thing? NSMBU was the wrong choice of debut Mario game on Wii U. Why pretend otherwise?

The last Mario game I bought was Super Mario 4. It's not my thing, but I was just saying.

2-million people bought and (for the most part) enjoyed NSMBU, it's not the generation defining AAA title Super Mario 3D World is but an entr?e never comes before a main.

Can I justify a Wii U when such a big back catalog? I could trick myself into believing I am buying it to play with my son (which I will). After all it is not really Christmas unless you have a Mario game to play right....? And I can play my back Catalog Wii games on it right?

Not doubting the commercial pull of the NSMB series on the whole, but yes - it was the wrong choice of Mario debut on WIi U on this occasion. The machine's struggles for sales clearly tell you that.

Lest we forget amid the revision that there was beginning to be apathy/negativity towards the franchise around the time NSMB2 dropped on the 3DS as it was seen as being more of the same and boring for it.

Super Mario 3D World as a launch-day title for Wii U would've been up there with the first time everybody saw SM64 on the N64 - a total jaw-dropper. And it would've made things so much better commercially for the Wii U in its crucial early stages.

A real missed opportunity for NCL.

This is released the day after I get paid.

No remorse paying full price either due to Mario games holding their value. Ah Wii U, we'll get along.
