If you are buying new HDDs remember that it has to be smaller than 9.5mm thick, which some of the bigger ones aren't.
Yeah I noticed that too. It seems unlikely that the system would need 160GB for the OS; but perhaps that also makes sure a few games can cache install?

500GB SSD are quite expensive, so if we need 160GB just for the OS; then I will go for a 1TB SSHD, (but wait for the newer ones with 32GB of SSD).

Before all of that...... I'll see how the default 5400rpm drive performs!

Urgh...I was hoping to get an XBOX shaped pad eventually. I just prefer it for many games. I've never got used to the sticks being in the center. Feels so unnatural to me.

You will presumably still be able to use any wireless controllers that use a USB dongle.

No. It's first-party only. DS4 or HORI. Providing SCEI license them. USB is heavily locked down on PS4. To start with, it's only for charging DS4.

It'll be like it is on 360 surely. Only 'licensed' products, i don't think there were ever any 'licensed' wireless pads though.
The in the US the vertical stand is an 'officially licensed product'

                More good news

It's been 30-odd years since the events of Killzone 3, and my, how things have changed. The fearsome Helghast are now refugees, their homeworld annihilated in a nuclear firestorm. In a desperate bid for survival, the surviving Helghast emigrate to an idyllic planet controlled by their mortal enemies, the ISA. Unrest simmers, leading to the [...]

                  Good news about the res/fps.

Not going to watch that trailer. Previews have been positive and I want to go in pretty much spoiler free.

So did I read that right? It's now 60FPS in both campaign and multiplayer?

That's what it states in the official blog
"Then there’s the competitive multiplayer mode which, like the game’s campaign, runs at native 1080p and 60 fps."

I guess one small difference is that the PS4 supports generic HIS controller devices, so there's nothing to ateop developers from simply releasing a generic device. Still, whether or not these will be compatible with more advanced features such as the touchpad is another issue.

I generally like to stick to official controllers anyway because unofficial controllers don't feel right. Saying that, I do own an unofficial Wii Remote Plus and it's perfectly fine.

Glad we are talking about HDD's!

Can you install the full game from disc on PS4, like you can on the 360? (which I think is its best feature, prevents listening to the optical drive scraping away).

I'm pretty sure installing the whole disc is actually mandatory this time around (for both platforms), though developers have the option to have the game install in the background if possible.
