The GameCube start-up is possibly my fave.

Well my personal start up has to be the current Xbox 360 one, you turn it on get a nice fancy swish noise, then wait for a good 40 seconds, which im sure is to load all the brilliant adverts and such but also helps build the excitement. Nothing beats instant gaming

I love the Francis video. The creator of the character has had a rough ride in life, but both his own videos and when acting as Francis really bring a smile to my face. He loves games and voices concerns when companies actions are negative for consumers. Makes me sad when he gets burned by people on NeoGAF, but I guess I promote being a good human being higher than others on the internet.

On another note, the BF4 ps4 video showed only PC footage. Not impressed by that, show the damn PS4 version!

Yeah in the 90s they were. PS3's startup actually feels like something that belongs on a 50 inch TV and surround sound system though.

And the best part is, you can enjoy the PS1 bootup screen whenever you like - just put a PS1 game in!

It's tuning. If they wanted HD and surround they could have done much better. It's minimal, a style people love until they look back and realise it is sterile.

Polygon confirmed remote play works well with AC4. Button mapping is as expected a challenge.

It would be good to have remote play for FFXIV, especially for crafting.

                  JP Saturn intro is awful.

First time I heard it I felt sorry for them. I think the UK Saturn one is miles better. Agreed about the PS logo sound. Glad they kept it when playing PS1 stuff on PS3(and maybe 2, can't remember)

Minimalism unequivocally deemed sterile, there we have it folks.

NFS Rivals Remote play. I tried to see if I could see any latency (still watching it) but it looks rock solid.

Edit: Just tried pausing it in various places, like when the police siren is going and you can see on some frames that it is behind slightly on the vita... but considering I had to pause it to notice I wonder how obvious it is playing it.

Edit 2: And IGN commenting on remote play:

Edit 3: And IGN adding a longer look at BF4 on remote play:

There's always going to be a certain amount of latency because it has to encode the image and send it over WiFi (or even the internet). Still, latency should be minimised because the PS4 has a dedicated video encoder, meaning any latency will be entirely due to the network connection rather than the video encoding.

This is difference to the PS3, which had to actually use CPU resources to do the encoding while simultaneously running the game, Hence it was only supported in a handful of titles.

                                Pretty impressive stuff.

Can you play online & voice chat from the vita?
