Strangely it has a PEGI 7 logo on the box. Totally pointless, being that some 3DS games are rated at 3. October 12th launch date.

Marketed right it could do well. At least in the way that it's sturdier than a 3DS. No hinge to snap (seen that loads).

Looks like the screens are the same as the normal 3DS so maybe that will be phased out leaving the 2DS & 3DSXL on the market.

GAME have this for ?109.99 on pre order, which is what you can get a 3DS for anyway so why bother with this? The 3D was a complete waste Imo but at least you'd get a clamshell design with the 3DS which will protect the screen.

Nintendo are yet again throwing their money away on a rubbish idea
