To stimulate Wii U sales, the report mentions plans both to increase the number of Nintendo DS games available via the Wii U Virtual Console, and to introduce new software taking advantage of the Wii U Gamepad, which Nintendo considers the system's "most important differentiator." As for the 3DS, Nintendo plans to release more key titles for the handheld in the coming fiscal year, hopefully generating "robust profits."

hmmm more ds games and more games like Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party? is that enough to turn things round for the Wiiu?

That?s a shame, I hope the 3DS sales prevent them from going belly up! They have my custom already from the 3DS and I intend to get Mario Kart 8 and Brawl on both platforms so every little helps I guess! Plus talking it up in the office has made one more person do the Tesco deal to get in on the MK8 action.

Majorly, crazy, stupidly cash ritch. They have enough cash in reserve to loose ?250 mill each year for another 50 years. Or something along those lines, it's not exact of course.

I repeat, THEY ARE NOT GOING BELLY UP. The only reason it's made a fuss of is because of the shareholders whining about not being even more ridiculously rich.

People like the BBC should do some actual reporting on a company before making comments like is Nintendo going to survive. That goes for all press making I'll informed comments.

Had a look through a bunch of wii u gameplay vids to see if I was being overly harsh. I can't even say much positive. Mario Kart looks good for a last gen game I guess. The zelda combat game looks like something from the ps2 era. I'm not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel here?

Nintendo seem to have gotten lazy. Like they're trying to stretch themselves with god awful spinoff games in order to cover the fact they actually have no quality Mario game, Zelda, Resi exclusive etc to fall back on.

Can someone with the ability chuck a poll up to see who thinks they'll drop the wii u entirely soon?

I still think Nintendo will draw the WiiU out until the painful end and the slow software run will be a lifetime long thing. Past Mario Kart 8 there's nothing I'm really compelled to play due. But them axing WiiU early to get a replacement out would likely be waste of time too. It'd annoy the early adopters from this system and they're over late for a next gen tech system now. Better to live quietly then pre-empt the next-next gen when the timings right.
