As for Monster Hunter 3, it looks 'ok' when I play it through the TV - but it certainly isn't built around the Wii U at all and the framerate is ball-sack. It looks more at home when played remotely on the little gamepad screen.

I'd love to see a new engine built around the home hardware. I bet that would look sick.

Yeah the Wii U is to the PS4 what the Wii was to the PS3. One generation behind technologically. I don't think anyone ever tried to claim otherwise to be fair.

Brad you need to play 3D World. It's stunning and unlike anything available on any other system (since 3D platformers are now dead, and no Knack doesn't count).

Oh I agree. I was just saying that Rayman looked amazing and MH looked like total arse, which it does. Doubt Capcom will ever update the GFX engine. Why bother? a new monster or two once in a while, shut down that last game's servers and the fans all swarm to the new game. Proper cash cow that game is for them.

Good point, a rare thing these days. At least Capcom are a bit more up-front about the whole thing. Buy game, get game. Whole game. All of it. Shame that's no longer normal. Quick question while I'm here. When using the right stick in MH it seems to have a bit of a dead zone and then just pans the camera around at fairly high speed. Seems to be little or no analog sensitivity there. Is this normal? I only ask because of the aiming difficulty I had in Deus Ex was also a bit like this. Cheers.

I'm actually thankful for it being like that, but no, it's likely down to the fact that the game was never really designed with an analogue camera in mind.

The dead zone is blatantly obvious when you get to operating the balistas. It's just a really lazy upscale from the 3DS version with the right stick mapped to a digital input.

I'm surprised Nintendo didn't step in earlier and aid them in polishing it up. Considering it was a bundled game with some sets and has a healthy online population it hardly does the console any favours when it comes to being a showcase. A missed opportunity, I reckon.

Still, I love the game and stand by the 10/10 I gave it, but as for the port quality I'd say 6/10.

They did try to monetise the online portion on the ps2 and Wii in Japan but it never took, soon as it was free it exploded in popularity, I'm sure they were happy with the extra millions of sales on the game rather than a few extra subs so left it free.

And the whole premium membership thing that gives you points for what you spend on the store can use those points for free credit. Again, only really matters if you DL a lot.

You have to spend ~?70 to get a fiver back so is really for the big digital spenders. Took me 12 months to get my first ?5 back.

Some games have such love from the fans that the publishers get lazy. Dark Souls is another example. They get away with dodgy graphics compared to other titles because the games are so good.

Just seen that Nintendo are shutting down Nintendo WiFi on Wii on 20th may. So, no multiplayer mario kart on Wii after that. hey, isn't that just before the new WiiU one comes out?
