There is, however it only works if you aren't using the gamepad to play. Press Home and then go to Settings and there's an option to shut the gamepad display off. If you press a button on the gamepad the screen will immediately turn back on though.

It's likely because they'd be cheaper in other territories, so if they ever do come to sell them on their own, they don't want people to shop for a better deal.

Is this now the best Wii U deal post-MK8 release?

          Wii U Basic 8GB + Just Dance 2014 & Wii Remote Plus (Don't laugh!), Nintendoland, Wii Party U & Mario Kart 8 for ?250.

Deduct the prices of the games and the free game DL code you get from MK8 via Club Nintendo and it works out as (roughly) ?120 for the machine. I'm actually tempted. 8GB isn't that much of a problem for me as I can get me a decent external HDD or even a USB stick for fairly cheap.

Yeah, I reckon that's a brilliant deal. You get two wii remotes so MK8 3 players straight out of the box too.

I've actually worked it out properly.

Wii U Basic Just Dance/Wii Party U/Nintendoland/MK8 pack - ?250 from Amazon (as above)

              Minus current Amazon prices for:

              Wii Party U + Wii Remote Plus - ?32.64
              Just Dance 2014 - ?20
              Nintendoland - ?20
              MK8 - ?39

And minus average value of Club Nintendo MK8 promo free game DL - ?43

Which overall means that you've effectively paid ?95.36 for the Wii U Basic itself. That is even better than the recent Wii U Premium MK8 bundle deal that Tesco were doing recently, no?

I can feel my resistance to a Wii U purchase wavering...

I paid ?199 for the Tesco bundle so if you less ?39 for MK8 and average DL of ?43 like you suggested, then the Wii U is ?117 with a 2 year warranty through Tesco.

Similar prices. Depends how much you want the extra memory and sensor bar etc.

That is a cracking deal yes.

Read this thread, seems there is a sensor bar and maybe a second Wii Remote Plus in that bundle too

Me and the wife spent a few hours on this alone this weekend.

They should make a game full of 1980's style mechanical table-top sport.

Not sure. Most Virtual Collection games have been the 60hz version for 12 months now. Have a check on nintendolife.com
