Both X & GX are great but i honestly thought GX improved upon X in every single solitary way. I also prefer Wave Race Blue Storm over the N64 version and 1080 Avalanche to the N64 prequel although it pales in comparison to SSX Tricky i.m.o.
Been playing alot of Advance Wars DS lately. I completed the Campaign in both normal and hard and It really is a brilliant game. Iv done 1 & 2 aswel but i think this one is my favourite and it's always fun doing the versus maps. Id love to see a 3d remake of it on WII U or any 3d Advance Wars on console would be great.

Can't link to it, but people should Google something called 'Nintendont'. It's an unofficial software mod that restores GameCube compatibility to the WiiU, albeit loading from USB due to incompatibility with the discs.
It works excellent. Playing F-Zero GX on the WiiU is nice. It all runs natively on the WiiU hardware too, which makes it frustrating that Nintendo arbitrarily removed GameCube support in the first place.

They probably removed Cube compatibility to keep to cost of the machine at more competitive level. It's not like it would be free to include it. Besides, how many people really use BC for two generations earlier, long abandoned system? You can also get a used Cube for probably $50. Be realistic, Sony or MS don't offer BC even for their last gen of machines.

How do GCN controllers work though?

To be clear, I wasn't really complaining about the lack of GameCube support but simply pointing out that it is actually hardware compatible. I guess there wasn't actually any need to remove it from the Wii mode, though I guess they didn't want to have to rewrite tut controller support. Regardless, it seems to have been relatively trivial for hackers to restore support.
Right now it only supports generic USB controllers. This is both a blessing and a curse, but you can use a USB adaptor for GameCube controllers. Or just a Dual Shock 4 or something.
