I personally don't think theres any need for installing any modified firmware or custom kernel. It's fast enough for any of the emulators, once you have them set up right.. It's just setting them up that's the pain...

Can you try tokyo highway battle 2 (original hardware struggled with bad slowdown) and blue stinger (my fav)

Can this device emulate anything else a bit tasty, that the psp couldnt?

Blue Stinger seems to run great Andy, apart from the odd stutter on the music for some reason. There was a bigger file that I could've went for than the one I used, so it may well be resolved with that one. Actually looks lovely on the screen to be honest, took me back to the early DC days!





Haven't downloaded the others yet. After extended play on Ikaruga, it does get the occasional bit of slowdown, personally I can forgive that for the pleasure of playing it on a handheld, but the more anal among you would doubtless not be happy.

Ok, Grandia II. When I put it on right away there were issues. During the FMV intro the music was very crackly and broken up. Strangely though, once in to the actual game itself the music is spot on, everything runs smoothly and it looks very, very sharp. Not going to extensively play it as it's not my kind of thing, but in game it seems spot on.

None of these pictures I've been doing for you guys do the video output any credit by the way, it looks immense in the flesh.

I'm busy speaking to a chap who has access to a few of these JXDs and I'm trying to sort out a deal if a few of us buy them so we can get them a little cheaper, quickly and without having to faff on with import duty.

Dracula X ran perfectly on mine as is? Haven't tried the others though. Funstock have the new 16Gb version due in, if you use the code "morefun" they're ?107.99 delivered. If you're getting them cheaper than that, superb.

Colin, your pics really sell themselves, DC looks great on this thing. I cant help but feel it cant look as good on my 50" plasma so dont want to buy one only to get disappointed. Anyway, for me half the fun of revisiting these classics is the 2 player action so that reason, I'm out.

His standard price is ?120 for a 40GB S7800B preinstalled with the custom firmware (you can have standard if you want). I'm trying to get him to knock ?10/?20 off that price which I think I'll be able to if a few of us buy.

Also is the D-Pad any good? That's the main thing for me.

Also just a quick one for the thread, it's worth looking into a nVidia Shield Tablet + Pad (I use PS4 pad) It's a really good device and HDMI out etc...

Its the JXD 7800B, the Shield is a good device but costs a lot more, for best bang per buck this is the one to get. If the d-pad is the deal breaker for you then I'd say you would be disappointed, for fighters its not up to it, but for everything else it is adequate.

I have a Shield Tablet and Pad Sho so if there is anything you want to know I can answer!
