With MS I think 360 killed any thoughts of backwards compatibility on XBO. They stopped providing support for it on 360 because hardly anyone from the userbase used it, would have left them feeling like it would be a waste of resources. Especially when it's only about 5% of previous gen games a niche audience wants to keep playing and those titles can be cheaply polished up and pit back on shelves at full price as remasters.

Microsoft could still redeem themselves by doing what they should have done at the start - offering a premium model which also has the 360 chipset in it. BC is one of the most important aspects for me, especially now that we all have large digital libraries, and is the no. 1 reason why I won't be buying either console in the near future.
