I must admit, I find the gamepad really handy for games that can be played on that alone. I can play on the TV until the likes of Bake Off and then my wife can watch that and not interrupt my play. But that's kind of it.

As said in the Starfox thread, normally I defend developers for pushing back deadlines in the interest of making a better game - but in this case, it's difficult. Firstly, because it leaves the WiiU's release schedule pretty barren, but secondly because this is Nintendo - it's hardly their first game.

LOL. I'm just waiting for the usual suspects on here to pipe up and tell me how the Wii U isn't totally dead in the water, tbh.

Xenoblade will see me out of the year nicely as I'm really not fussed for Star Fox in the slightest.
It seems so barren of action from all the videos I have seen which is the polar opposite of what it should be with Platinum Games involved. It will need some serious attention paid to it to get me on board.

Xenoblade Chronicles I think I will be picking up now that Persona 5 has been pushed back ( :'( ). It looks pretty good - no Persona 5, but a pretty good JRPG.
The WiiU is commercially dead in the water but I have quite a lot of games for mine and have enjoyed all of them. It kinda works for me as while the software library is very limited, the stuff that comes out tends to be fairly tailored for my tastes.

Copy and paste!
Wow, it's been nearly 1 year with no comments about the Wii U!
I've had no interest in the Wii U at all in-till last weekend when I saw Mario Maker. It looks like a genius game and when I took a cursory glance at the titles that are now available on Wii U, it seriously looks like the best exclusive line up of games on any of the current systems. Exceptional, eccentric, and joyous, it's a really good line up of games. I'm thinking of Mario Maker, Zelda Wind Waker, Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 1 + 2 and Yoshi's Wolly World.
I'm thinking of buying one or holding on till Christmas as my Wife has told me to wait as that'll be a good present... Will power is failing me though!
Had a few questions if anyone could be kind enough to answer them?
Can you buy extra Wii U GamePad's or do they only come with the console?
If I brought a Pro Controller, is it wireless and does not need to be plugged into anything?
Does the Wii U need the sensor bar, or is that only if you buy the Wii Nunchuck?
Is Wii backwards compatibility good and how do Wii games look through HDMI?

2. If you brought one where? </facetious> - Real answer = I don't know 100% but I'm pretty sure they are just regular wireless pads like a DS4
3. Even by Wiiu standards this is a new level of confusion to me. Nintendo seriously f'd this console up. Wii sensor bar only needed to play Wii games, hopefully this answers your question!
4. Good back compatibility (perfect?), Games look fine fine thru HDMI but no better than a regular wii would thru component i.e. there's no improvement over a Wii output.
