I barely remember a thing about it. Mansion bit. Graveyard I think? Cut scene with bullets through glass. Other than that, I just have a general positive rosy feeling. I have the DC set up so might dig out the game at some point and see if my memory is a dirty rotten liar.

Code Veronica was and is awesome. I love it!

Apart from Bandersnatches. I hate them.

Were they like hunters with long arms?

Yeah. But crap, and could hit you from off screen.

Code Veronica was great. Almost as good as the first 2 Res games. I enjoyed the puzzles and plot and at times it had the same feel of the 1st.

Never got on with Res 4. I found the location a bore and the over the shoulder camera irritating. The manual aiming was frustrating too and it's on my list of overrated games. Never played the later ones so i can't comment on those.

I'm loving all this discussing Resi. It's odd, it's made me realise I only really liked four Resi games - 1,2,4 and 5.

I'm another in the "not too keen on Code Veronica" camp. It had some creepy bits and looked nice...but it was missing something, too tough in parts, weapons felt a bit meh, too much irritating backtracking and samey bits...and you couldn't blow heads off in it. Zero, too, wasn't too keen. REmake...again...stunning-looking BUT...I don't know.

Anyhoo, I'd say that 2 and 4 are masterpieces, 5 is the slickest to play and 1 is the scariest!!!! But that's only me!!!

And the best "unofficial" Resi is Dino Crisis 2!!! It's better than all the above! They should've done a *proper* Resi like that. What a game.

Resident Evil 4 defined a genre. It's not overrated.

I dunno about that with Dino Crisis 2. Much like Resident Evil 2 to Resident Evil, you have far more freedom and resources at your disposal.

I agree with 4 being a masterpiece though, it really is.

I never played Dino Crisis 2 or much of the first. Heard good especially about 2.

1 had tension. 2 gives you access to weapons and ammunition like in MGS4 and throws droves of dinosaurs at you. It's dumb fun, but feels far removed from the first.

Dino Crisis 2 is basically a fast-paced combo shooter within the constraints of an old skool Resi game. It's not scary, just exciting, fun fun fun.

If you see it in that way, it's pure genius. One of the PS1's true hidden gems.

Yeah that's what I've heard. Apparently the first is almost too tough.
