Wow, what a step up from the first PSVR this is.

I've avoided any other VR headsets as I have already invested plenty in the PS economy (well done Sony - I am a true hostage customer now) but this seems very good. GT7, RE8, Pistol Whip and Pavlov are my starting dishes and given that the first two I have put some chunky time into already I'm really happy to get back into them now, with this tech.

GT7 - this feels like how it was meant to be played.

RE8 - reminds me of RE7 (obviously) but its bigger, more in your face and much more intense from what I can recall. I'd like them to redo7 for the PSVR2 I think, would be a marked improvement.

Pistol whip I ducked out on as I thought the tracking on PSVR 1 for beat saber was naff, glad I did, this **** is epic John Wick Gun Kata madness.

What else should I get a look at?

Walking Dead Saints and Sinners coming on the 21st the first version is getting a psvr 2 upgrade and the Second game will be launching on psvr2 and steam on the 21st also.

I really liked What the Bat, its a very silly Wario Ware style puzzle game where you have bats for hands and have to complete every day tasks this usually means whacking stuff

Not sure how much of a metric this is as exact figures aren't given but given the ratio:

In Japan PSVR2 represented 90% of all VR:AR headset sales in its week of launch

I feel like Walking Dead will be more my speed than Pavlov - there seems to be a whole lot of muscle memory learning that I need to do... Call of Duty it is not.

Will check out What the Bat - looks great. Anyone been through the full Star Wars game? Demo was pretty good I thought.

I don't personally rate any VR's competitive shooters as serious competitive videogames - yet.

I've tried many of them and while they're fun for a bit, I don't feel the tracking is quite exacting enough. It's similar to if you play the final levels of the Vader Immortal lightsaber dojo. Great fun for the first 43 levels, then 44-47 are just killer, and you get moments where you get killed because the tracking breaks down. Kinda like VR's equivalent of how you sometimes die from the camera in Mario64.

The first one I've really enjoyed is a new one currently in beta, called Breachers. Actually that's not true, there was one on PSVR I liked, but again, it was mainly due to the novelty of VR at the time.

The other hopeful was VAIL, but unless there's a bit of a turnaround, that seems to have struggled to take off.

I think part of the problem is that these games need some sort of eSports push to really work, and the issue with that is that most of them take the form of "xxxx... But in VR!" Like people say "Pavlov is like CS:Source... In VR!" and even Breachers is trying to be Rainbow Six: Siege.

I don't think any of these games will really take off until they deliver something very VR-specific. Ironically I thought Echo Arena was going to be the game to do that, but that has proven to be a failure.

A lot of the current crop of Competitive shooters didn't start life as a competitive shooter counter strike was just a team death match game on PC for years before it came went competitive. Cod's multiplayer played second fiddle to the story campaign for years and Overwatch was just a team based shooter with Rule34 added .

A lot of these games are enjoyed at multiple skill levels too with the majority of people that play not doing so competitively but to have a laugh and to unwind with friends, So to try and launch a game a pure comp shooter with nothing else in its arsenal on a pretty Niche platform is always gonna be a struggle.

Sounds good, guys. I'm toying with the idea of picking one up. Think it's just missing that big Astrobot sequel now.

Still plugging away at RE8! I think my progress has slowed 'cause I've played it before and I'm past Lady D's castle, which is the best part imo. I wanna get Rez and maybe Tetris Effect but I don't see the point if I can't even finish Resi. I'll get there

I tried RE7 on PSVR1 and found it terrifying I'd love to be able to playthrough without crying. Anyone tried Job Simulator? I have this and there was a free update for PSVR2. Interested to know how that is.

I was wondering if anyone knows whether it will be the whole game in VR yet or just "content"?

If it is the whole game I will wait, if not, I'll start it when I finish RE8VR I think.

Also, a slightly rude question (sorry Sony) but is Call of the Mountain really worth £60?

We don't know whether it will be the whole game or not, but if I had to guess, I'd actually say I reckon it will be. Capcom have a great track record with this - 7 and 8 were obviously both fully implemented in VR, and the original version of 4 was fully ported into VR also. So I'd be surprised if they undercook the 4Remake VR elements.

Call of the Mountain doesn't sound worth it, so much climbing and less action.

i would imagine it will be the whole game, its built on the same engine as the previous game. (same mod on pc had the demo running in VR the day it came out)

Call of the mountain is a nice Demo, has lots of wow factor and some great game play, and a lot of padding (climbing). Not worth the current price. £30 would still be pushing it IMO.

Like he said above, didnt see your post kryss

Yeah, the RE4R VR version is probably going to be largely the same game, plus some bells & whistles.

Those don't personally "do it" for me; I've yet to play one of those VR conversions where, after the initial wow factor of being in the location fades, I wouldn't rather just play on a nice big TV while sat on the sofa. But they're popular.
