Well yeah Like I said before, I bought them previously for a couple of quid each. Even if S3&K are considered two games, by track record, that means the pack should be closer to £8. I appreciate they've put in some animated sequences, but I'd basically need a movie's worth to justify the difference.

I was expecting this to be ~£17.99 (a price I've seen a bunch of similar things)

Very disappointing move by Sega. I already have a way to play 1 & 2 on my PC using Rubberduckycooly’s methods. If they had kept it simple, released at a moderate price point and had a physical version for sale then I would have bought the classic sonics all over again for the umpteenth time. However not this time Sega. I am out.

Well I probably wasn't ever going to buy it anyway but, if I was going to, this news would be a huge disappointment. The soundtracks to S3&K will not be intact and will have some of the tracks replaced. Honestly, the Ice Cap Zone music was one of the best things in the game, in my opinion.

I'd have been more than happy to pay for a Sonic Jam like package with all the games running natively in widescreen with slot mask shaders and all that. Additional Mania-like modes would be welcome, but not necessary. That could have been the last time I ever needed to pay for classic Sonic.

The way they're handling this makes me hug my MiSTer just a little bit tighter in the evenings.

It's a shame - buuuut... I was more worried before I heard that Jun Senoue's going to be doing new mixes. The music they replaced the tracks with in the PC version was genuinely awful.

Yep, having someone who actually worked on the original is definitely intriguing and the best option in this situation. Still, I know I would always miss that original music.

They should rip out the entire soundtrack. I never liked any of it (for the record, I love Michael Jackson and am absolutely convinced he wasn't a pedophile). Although, whenever I play Sonic 3 today I'm reminded of how utterly disappointed I was with everything about it back when it came out, so I'm probably not the best person to stake an opinion.

Kinda glad they didn't listen to you, as Sonic 3, for me, is "definitive" Sonic

Same. I loved the first two but I felt 3 was on another level. Just personal taste.

Why isnt sonic and knuckles included? This should be sonic jam at the very least, surely!

Sonic 3 & knuckles seem to be only playable as one entity in this game (though I could be wrong)

Also +1 more that thinks true sonic 3 (S3+K) is the best Sonic game by far with Mania in a reasonably close 2nd place.

Gutted about Carnival night zone, ice cap zone and Launch base zone tunes won't be there

S3&K is a different story entirely, as opposed to just plain old Sonic 3 by itself. It's like that's what Sonic 3 should have been all along, but they ran out of time and split it into two games for twice the profit.

IIRC sonic3 & K wouldn't fit on a single cartridge, hence the adapter cart instead. Not sure how true it is.
TBH playing both back to back as one game, although great, is a huge undertaking. Its a whole lot of Sonic.

Isn't the adapter on S&K used to bypass the base game and play modified versions of Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 if one of those carts is inserted?
