its £22 quid for animal crossing dlc on its own or an extra tenner for the n64 stuff and the animal crossing dlc its not doubling it its gone up by a third switch online is a £20 rrp though oftern its only 10-12 if you shop about.
It has doubled. It's £17.99 RRP. I know cuz I had to buy it recently and did so through the console. Now it's £34.99. OK it's like a quid off, but it's basically double.

It's still not outrageously mindblowingly expensive, but as someone who doesn't play AC, I don't feel any urge to pay £18 a year for a small selection of N64 and Megadrive ROMs personally.

Thats it, feed them, feed the warchest!!!

The price there might as well come with pics of Nintendo execs wearing black eye masks, riding horses and firing pistols
        Week of the hustle indeed

I'd rather wank all over my own face than subject myself to paying out of my arse for sub-standard software emulation.

I don't need any ROMs at all. I just want a package that doesn't use P2P for gaming and hosts my cloud saves indefinitely. I'd pay €90 a year for that.

For someone who has no interest in Animal Crossing I'm finding it pretty stupid that they bundle it in with an online subscription offering and inflate the entry price across the board.

Why not do what game pass does and offer a 20% discount whilst the subscription is active instead... even if that was only on first party games from Nintendo it would be a better, more broad offering.

They'll of course sell bucket loads but seriously Nintendo are muppets when it comes to this stuff.

Yeah, based on what we know now, this is the bit that I'm really struggling with - even if they say otherwise, the perception is going to be that the size of the price increase is hugely driven by the inclusion of an otherwise-£20 Animal Crossing expansion. I'm really hoping that this is just a really poorly executed reveal and that there's going to be another option to get at the N64/MD bits that decouples them from Animal Crossing.

Also - do you lose access to the AC bits when your sub runs out, or if you get it this way does it count as a purchase?

This is what I was wondering too. I feel like I'd be much better just paying the money for the DLC rather than going for an expensive extra sub.

You must lose access to the DLC when you stop paying, I don't see how it could work otherwise.

On the small print of the official graphic above, it says 'Active membership required to access DLC at no additional cost'.

And yeah, I agree, it feels weighted bizarrely heavily to AC players.

Haha. I don't think they needed anybody to give them ideas.

ACNH is the Switch's second-best selling game. They know precisely what they're doing.

Just seen it's £35 now for Nintendo's new sub service where we can play Sonic for the thousandth time but less accurate, I assume they are planning to release this on April 1st?

It really cracks me up that you’re all moaning about it but will all get it anyway. Nintendo know you all to well, just give in now, no no don't fight it, thats it there you go, shhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I won’t be getting it. I will be paying for the AC DLC but just that separately. They’d need to seriously add value to get me to pay more for the online subscription.

As someone who already owns all the N64 games physically that I'll ever want to play, I'm not in the target demographic for this expansion pass.

And if I was, I still wouldn't buy such an obvious load of cack.
