The purple controller might be growing on me though.
I don't know what colour the console needs. I think it's because the sides are so big that any colour is just a massive wall of colour. It has no subtleties.
Maybe some slight shading on the contours and a different shade on the inner plastic colour might help.

OK the pink and blue are terrible and remind me of the Wii's pink and blue colours.

But that purp...I could be in for that.

The red is decent too although not one for me personally.

Nice to see, also, that they are doing this. I really dig official post-purchase customisation options like this

Purple one is very nice. I actually don't mind the blue pad but I liked the weird blue / purple split DSR that was a Smyths exclusive.

Purple and black sleeves are nice the red is moving too much towards magenta, i quite like that blue pad don't get the hate myself.

Even in the cold light of a new day, the default white stomps these. Hopefully Sony will make a real effort in future with something much nicer

To be honest I kind of agree. It clearly makes the most sense as the pack-in colour (yeah that's right haters, it's better than black, so there).

I don't mind the white colour given the two tone aesthetic but I think I still prefer black as an option. The only issue is the console is so bloody massive any colour change is drastic.

At least with the GameCube it was cute and small... any change here and you're getting a lot of colour!
