In sadder news, the V for Victory punchcard still isn't working for me with 2 days left and maddeningly neither is the daily gaming tab one after weeks

You get further than me, I can't get the app to launch at all on the console now, it just gives that "set your console to the right region" error and refuses to load, despite being set to UK and located in the UK.

MS Rewards
When completing the shopping game you can increase your chances by minimising your browser window to a smaller box. Doing so will reduce the number of items you need to guess from 4 to 3.

Also, when in your browser, opena new tab and click on the Cog icon. You will see an option to change your browser appearance, flick between Custom and Inspirational then open a new tab again. Within opening 1-2 tabs you should get a pop up inviting you to switch to Information View for 100 points, leaving it on this view for several days will net you another 400 points also.

i cant get the other thing you suggested to work, i did get a pop up recently offering me points to switch Edge to my default browser.

They keep adding new bits but it seems pointless when so much of the existing ones are breaking and not getting fixed.

I had the app block out on me once before and ended up fixing it by hard resetting the Series X and clearing its cache which was annoying is you lose your quick resumes etc

Mine was working and I had to do a reset as the networking started playing up said it was connected in the settings but told me I needed to connect to the internet to login - pull the cat6 out and it claimed it was still connected. After doing the reset it would no longer connect to the rewards app :/ - it did fix the network problems tho.

Marty that sounds like you need to hard reset... weird one but sounds like it's got cross wired on what region you're set to.

They've been tinkering with and breaking rewards for a few months now. I knew about all those little tricks but mainly I grab all my points on the Steam Deck when I'm in work meetings. When I do that the shopping one always defaults to 3 options in the game but didn't really make much of it.

Currently I'm spending all my rewards credit on Nintendo stuff. Got that 8bitdo adaptor which is amazing, a case and I'm about to grab a new dock for the lounge now. I don't like the standard dock as it doesn't fit if my switch still has my grip on it.

After that I'll be buying tears of the kingdom.

It's crazy that MS rewards is basically paying for all my non-Xbox purchases now as well.

The hard reset caused it (I suspect it cleared some cookie data). It's an issue with how MS is doing their GeoIP checks. I had the same issue with XCloud for a while being region locked out - between myself and my ISP bombarding their support the XCloud team changed and fixed it. The rewards team still hasn't.

It's the same on my phone, I can't access the XBox app reward points without using a VPN to a UK IP.

Damn that would be annoying. I used to switch regions all the time when in Australia asI normally purchased digitally from the US or Hong Kong for decent savings... I don't really bother now.

There's a guy in Twitter who appears to be in the rewards team who fields and replies to questions so might be worth making him aware of it.

The review of the Xbox App is 80% negative a large majority of which mention this issue and I've been on their support about it multiple times - if they're not aware of it by now, then there's a serious comms problem at Microsoft.

There seems to be an effort to make the rewards less and less attractive of late - I've managed to use it to get "free" Game Pass Ultimate for over a year now, I'm sure they'd rather marginalise it to reduce how much they're paying out in freebies, so I doubt it's going to get fixed any time soon.

Just read that the stream on Sunday is going to be in 4k which is good.
Its the first year for a while I think Xbox showcase could take the lead over Sony. Sonys wasn't great. Xbox have an opportunity here. They'll probably drop the ball, but I live in hope.

I don't think MS has 'won' an E3 season presentation 'battle' since the early days of the Xbox 360. Even with a weak showing they should finally cake walk this one. Solely showing Forza 8 and Starfield would be disappointing but that would still be more than Sony once you add all the third party stuff as well.

The past 3-4 xbox showcases have been in 4K streamed but only on the main stream... all the media site streams were in 1080p which was really bloody annoying.

I find these live streams are blurry messes during action-heavy scenes. These days I watch them the day after when they tend to look better.

YouTube has started offering me 1080p premium bitrate for some videos but it doesn't apply to live streams.

The few I've watched I've done so through the console using the ad they usually put out.

This time I'm going to watch it all catch up in the evening as we're flying home from holidays when it's on ...

Will have to get the kids to bed and then check it out.
