I might try Starfield after it’s had a couple of years ‘extra’ in the oven. Just get it out ASAP wonky AF and let the modding community do the rest. That’s the best thing about Bethesda RPGs.

Flintlock is a maybe but still looks a bit rough around the edges. It could be worth a look though.
Starfield, well the current comparisons to No Mans Sky are a bit laughable. Sure they have a similar design aesthetic (though with Starfield going for a more realistic approach) but that's where it ends... No Mans Sky is not a fully fledged RPG.
With 6-9 months left for Starfield I just hope they can improve on the framerate and general gunplay, maybe raise the bar a bit more on the NPC characters in dialogue etc... I think what is there is great, but it needs more finesse.

I don't get the NMS comparisons for Starfield at all, it's such a poor comparison and frankly Starfield looks much better. Even if Starfield needs patching for bugs etc it's hardly a win to compare it to NMS which has literally spent years making up for its launch. Starfield is blatantly literally Fallout in space, all the comparison anyone needs

I'm mostly concerned by the LOD pop-in on those rocks and debris. Seeing as this is the Creation Engine that'll absolutely no doubt be fixable with some basic .ini tweaks. They must have restrained the distance to salvage the performance.
This is Bethesda we're talking about. It's probably not going to end up looking anywhere near as good as that clip on a console, certainly not at 4K/60FPS.

Star Field looked like it could be lots of fun skyrim in space is exactly what i want, "adventure awaits Hazarrr"
I thought High on life looked brilliant gave me real vibes of odd world strangers wrath with the living ammo, that talking knife called Mr Stabby had me in stitches.
Redfall I'm really interested in too looks a lot more interesting than Back for Blood and rather than being a homage to 4 player Valve games of old it looks like its got a lot more meat on its bones with the ability's and varied character classses.
The Last Case of Benedict Fox looked really cool too so am looking forward to that loved the setting and the
Forza Horizon Hotwheels Expansion looks like Bottled sunshine so I'm really looking forward to that i picked up the official Hotwheels game and found it a bit lacking as its all set in dull looking basements and dark houses.
Everything else looked pretty Dire to me, Flintlock looked like they where trying to tick equality boxes and have created a very bland looking world with a very bland looking cast of characters. Ark looked like a **** Horizon zero dawn and somehow managed to look worse graphically in its CGI than an actual game running in engine, Normal track based Forza games bore me. Wo Long i thought was a remake of some old 360 IP and looks very unoriginal and very ropey. Gunfire Reborn looked like an ios game. i could go on but it feels like kicking a company when their down.Last edited by Lebowski; 13-06-2022, 12:01.

I'm amazed by the slack Starfield is getting on account of it being 'Ol' Bethesda'.
This isn't a third party company anymore. They are Owned by MS and are making Starfield only for Xbox. They can't get a free pass if they release it with Jank and glitches just because it's Bethesda.
If Horizon released in a mess it'd be ripped apart.
It needs to release without issues.

I'll probably give D4 a look when it appears but I'll admit, Diablo is very much a franchise I see as having its wheelhouse amongst PC gamers. I know they've been ported over and D3 had a fair bit of exposure but I think in console terms it's not a big draw so GP will likely be a good fit for it for exposure.

Scorn looks like if HR Giger did Quake. It might be pants, but its got a unique look at least.
It's very unique in style though so like you I'm up to playing it through, in the dark, with headphones.
Apparently id Software is going to show anything they're working on at Quake con, so if they are making the rumoured Quake remake then it'll get shown there. I'm a massive Quake fan so I'm hopeful it's real and on a par with the marvellous stuff they did with Doom.
As for Starfield, well MS were right to delay but at the same time remember that Bethesda aren't first party in the same way Guerilla games are for Sony. They are still a standalone company in many respects... though you're right, they should still aim to release bug free and optimised etc... equally we know what their engine is like and where it falters and it's obviously on a much, much larger scale to games like Horizon.
I'm never playing this on PC so really as long as it gets refined and fixed up over the coming months and launches in better condition I think that's the best we can hope for.
