Forza Motorsport 8's showcase was running on PC, not Series X

Looking at what was shown and comparing that to Forza Horizon 5 I don't think this is anything to be concerned about... plus it's what, 6-9 months out?

What I'd love to know is what the performance is going to be like on Series S given they've stated it'll have ray tracing on track.

I just assumed there's a transition from space to landing which to me is no real issue.

Not sure about the space travel part. They showed dogfights etc... but as Cassius says that might still be triggered somehow. They haven't really answered whether there's open flight but given the scale I'd assume not.

Year doesn’t appear to be any free flight or anything.

My guess is 1080p/30 or dynamic resolution/60. No RT. Either that or the LoD and draw distance will be on its arse.

seems to be a confusing mess of rules they've come up but its seems you can't get 'story' progress tick box's if you haven't done previous missions which as far as i can tell is par for the course in co-op shooters, if you and your mate doing it all together, missing nothing, you get those tick boxes. And regardless of that equipment/exp earnt is kept. The example in the interview clearly says someone jumping in half way through the game having done nothing previously won't earn clears.

The bound to 1 character per play through sounds ****e, story making sense shouldn't dictate gameplay choice in co-op shooters.

If FH5 is any indication then 1080p60 is going to be decent but yeah, I think if RT hurts that performance then I'd rather have an option to turn it off.

I would of thought the next forza motorsport would be doing 60fps on SeriesS at 1080p, it doesn’t have to worry about all the open world stuff after all, just a track, cars and a bit of scenery.

Why do they need removing exactly? I think under Joseph Staten the games output is stabilising and the current roadmap has the important pieces coming soon, that being Forge and Co-op.

There's been leaked information around Forge and it looks amazing. The amount of scripting and building items users will have at their disposal is enough to guarantee some quality maps / modes and more complex content. It seems there's also classic weapons in there and the ability to script changes to how weapons actually work (including using the legendary weapon types from the campaign).

Co-op is also going into beta soon and sounds like it's working well this far.

Given the campaign was a good 20hrs do we really need more of it right now? Do we need them rushing it out of the door? Of course not. If Halo Infinite is a 10 year game I don't mind them taking 3 years to bring new episodes to the campaign if that content is great. I would also guess that if 2025 is the target they're being conservative given the current development climate and what they've dealt with for the main release.

They have more than enough resources to separate any campaign content and have a group work on it as a pretty much its own game like ODST was which at this point should be the approach. Tbh, I don't think significant numbers are waiting for either co-op or Forge. I might only be playing it for the points but the idea of user made content feels awful and a split of a userbase already too low, user content requires way too much wading through dross to get the good stuff. 343 should already have teams working on a season 3 map dump with tweaks to existing maps. A massive map boost, without it I don't think Infinite will recover from another drawn out season like Seasons 1 and 2.

I don't think it'll last five years, unfortunately. The userbase has fallen off pretty severely, diminishing by 50% each month since its launch, at least on Steam.
