What I meant was they never committed to a time scale for story DLC and they obviously haven't finished the two last components of the initial release so better just get that out into the community and done.

The battle royale to me sounds like it's own stand-alone thing and I don't really care when it comes, or if it ever arrives. What I want to see is more frequent releases for multiplayer and the Forge out. The Forge was and is a critical component to multiplayer and I think it's especially important here because it's even more in depth than we've seen previously.

As for the story. I enjoyed the campaign and felt it delivered enough. I'll play it through again in co-op when it arrives but I'm not expecting more content to take the story further just yet. I hope it doesn't take until 2025, but I'm equally not expecting it any time soon.

Tbh, I don't think significant numbers are waiting for either co-op or Forge. I might only be playing it for the points but the idea of user made content feels awful and a split of a userbase already too low, user content requires way too much wading through dross to get the good stuff. 343 should already have teams working on a season 3 map dump with tweaks to existing maps. A massive map boost, without it I don't think Infinite will recover from another drawn out season like Seasons 1 and 2.
What they tend to do is look at the user content and where it's really good they'll incorporate it into official rotations. That way you're not delving into custom game searches to find great user maps.

The latter is always there but they have ways of making it accessible.

I had a go on Friday night after a break of a couple of months, ready to try the lone wolves playlist at last. Couldn't actually get a game because it couldn't find enough players. MS need to get a ****ing grip here.

It's all well and good having a 10-year game, but if you can't get enough decent content out in the first couple of years (after being over a year late), then you're ****ed anyway.

There are so many FPS out there, and so many BETTER FPS including Halo MCC that it's already got an uphill struggle.
Lord knows how it'll fair once MS release all the other FPS it has in development.
It had to come out the gates like a bolt of lightning, but instead it just flopped out like a fish.

Man seriously I couldn't disagree more... I've never had a problem finding matches. Normally off peak it takes max of a 1m 20 to find matches but generally is less than that... I have never had it unable to find a match.

I also think it's massively improved in season 2 and the new maps are great. It's brought me back in and I've played most nights since it launched. Even the new modes like land grab and last spartan standing are decent. I think the only falter has been the underwhelming sniper mode.

They still need more maps and that's my main concern. The new breaker map is a classic in the making in my opinion but the slow feed of maps isn't enough. Which brings me back to why I think Forge is a main priority.

Damn I thought co-op was out in May, now people talking "hopefully by 2025". Whut?

Mixing the best Forge maps into the official rotation would be good, especially if they can coax players away from MCC. I always find a game but I have noticed the time it takes has become a little longer. It's more commonly 30s to 1m whereas a few weeks back it was commonly 12s-30s

I find if I play late in the evening it's around 1m+ but during the morning (when I guess some of the US is still up) it's halved.

Hudson co-op is due out soon and is currently in flight testing.

They should rename them 404 industries,

                    Fatal Error

map.variables not found (all biome's will be replaced with default Forest skin.....)

Unknown error in database co-op option not found....

                      Series S 1080p60...

                        Better than my expectations.
The real time Ray tracing 'on track' makes me suspicious. They haven't said 'while racing', just 'on track'. That could mean a few things.

I don’t think we can expect much ray tracing this gen at 60fps if at all, even the 30fps options have been unplayable. Unless it’s Insomniac, then you can expect it at 60, because they are wizards.

Yeah I don't really feel the need to get excited about precisely what RT is going on in this but I'm happy to hear they're aiming for 1080p60 on Series S as FH5 absolutely nailed it on the smaller console and 60fps is so important.

Easiest way is if they just turn RT off most of the time. In the reality of gameplay you're going to see very little of the reflections anyway, it's something more visible in replays and the like. Nothing worth sacrificing performance over in a game like this.

For the first time, I don't really appreciate the new tech in the room. I'm basically blind to ray tracing. Fake lighting worked just fine. Who is looking anywhere other than just ahead of the car in a game like this anyway. Oooh look the headlights bounce off the crash barrier as they would in real life. Meh.
