The blog is titled Adapting ahead of regulation... so I get the feeling it's more they are pre-empting some of the potential issues if they decided to go all in exclusive on stuff like COD.

Fact is they don't need it to be exclusive. They can put it on PS5 and charge you £70 for it and simultaneously put it on game pass where you get it included in the subscription.

That paints them as the good guys by supporting competing platforms but still makes Xbox look more enticing (to some).

I wonder if Steam has played a role in this too. Not directly but you can go on Game Pass PC right now and play Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon etc for pittance and yet scores and scores of PC gamers are instead buying the games at price on Steam. In effect it's unexpectedly created a bit of a cake and eat it opportunity for MS. Make Xbox more appealing via brand association and best value, rinse the existing market too and let the Bethesda/Xbox software carry the exclusives torch

Still benchmarking the MS Rewards scheme. So, 12,000 points for 1 month of Xbox GP Ultimate is the benchmark I'm using though if you're actually cashing in the 3 months claim is better value.

I was originally not paying much attention to it and getting 2 claims per year so in other words 12,000 points per 6 months. I started to pay attention and do it more diligently and got it down to 12,000 points per 8 weeks.

I've spent the last few weeks picking through the two phone apps, the PC options and the console based app and ensuring I can now claim every available point per day that doesn't involve spending money. I'll need another 4 weeks to lock down an exact turnaround time but so far I've hit the next 12,000 point milestone and I'm currently benchmarked at:

12,000 per 19 Days

From what I can figure out I should be able to reduce that further still. Nuts.

Apparently if you're buying game pass ultimate it's also better to buy the gold option as it converts to more days overall then if buying GPU directly.

3 months of gold = 15,000pt and converts to 50 days of GPU

So double that at 30,000 points for 100 days versus currently the 3 months (90 days) of GPU direct is 35,000.

So you can get 10 days more for 5,000 points less...

I played some CrossfireX MP last night. Highlight was the complete rip off of Dust 2 map (Black Widow), which to be fair was fun coz I kinda know it. The gunplay is very CS too. From what I saw there was no ADS. I feel I really need to tweak the controller settings as it felt awful to me. First impressions... I was expecting something really cool, but it was surprisingly really generic. Like really really generic. I will dip in again though, coz I love a good **** game

Anyone ever had their xbox series x refusing to load games? i moved it out of power saving mode and it had a fit, I had to do a full factory reset on it to get it to play ball again, refused to load games and the OS went super laggy,, googling it i found it can do this if you switch off power saving mode. Had me really worried for a minute as couldn't even get into settings to get to the factory reset for a bit. Thankfully its all back up and running now but wow what a mess.

I've never had that but I have had it crap out countless times when playing 4k BluRay. So much so that I bought a dedicated UHD BluRay player.

CrossfireX is very average and feels bad on a controller, deleted right after playing the Dust2 rip off, i just can't gel with counterstrike format of 2 shots to dead and sit out the round anymore, such a change from getting deep into old CS and then Source clan scene decades ago, styling with the scout.

Edge of Eternity - someone made a RPGmaker level game in Unity... the combat is quite slow but shows some promise with moving around and delaying enemy ATB bars, main problem is it's in unity so it's slowdown city, looks 360/Ps3 level and for the story and action cutscenes they're trying to tell they just don't have the either skill or the engine to imagine their ideas into reality with out it looking bad or cringe.
