Ray'z Arcade Chronology coming to PS4 and Switch via M2 and Taito

Publisher TAITO and developer M2 have announced shoot ’em up collection Ray’z Arcade Chronology for PlayStation 4 and Switch. It will launch in 2023 in Japan.

        • RayCrisis (1998)
        • RayCrisis HD (2023) – A remaster of RayCrisis.
Worth noting that RayForce (Layer Section / Galactic Attack) already got ported recently by City Collection quite recently, however that was a port of the Saturn port whereas this is promised to be distinct from that version.

The thing is, the Saturn version is superior to the Arcade. It has an enhanced soundtrack and two graphic modes. One that is the same as the Arcade with all the same effects and a neutered version known as Saturn mode.

I need to go and play Layer Section on the Saturn and see the differences between the two modes. Can't say I've ever noticed. Totally up for this new collection though. Kind of weird a game that isn't launching until next year doesn't mention the PS5?

Basically the "Saturn mode" lacks all the cool line scrolling effects.

Irrespective of anything a Saturn version might've added, the "S-Tribute" releases from City Connection are using an emulator that adds a bunch of lag on top, which is why M2 doing this is already generating a lot of positive attention.

With M2 handling it, think I'll go for the PS4 physical release. The PS4 is easily one of my best on a whim buys. So much retro love on physical format. Plus a few nice exclusives I missed out on.

This is the English language page which lists them both separately for $19.99 each and download only, but shhhhh! Change over to the Japanese page and you can see that they're getting a physical version with both games and a CD for 7,480円. Don't tell anyone.
                      Pre-ordered. Thanks.

Anyone know when preorders will be up, been wanting to play a UK version of this since stumbling through the psp version of Boku no Natsuyasum years ago, Attack of the Friday Monsters on 3ds is the only other game that got a western release, i might have to replay that before this comes out, i remember really enjoying it.

DOOM RPG finally got a port from mobile to PC!

I've waited a long time for this, I loved playing dungeon crawlers on my old Sony Ericsson.
