Capcom and artist ‘resolve’ lawsuit regarding alleged stolen photos in Devil May Cry, Resident Evil

"Update (Feb. 8, 2022): Photographer Judy A. Juracek and Resident Evil developer Capcom have filed to dismiss the lawsuit regarding the use of Juracek’s alleged stolen photographs in Capcom games. Details of the resolved dispute are not publicly available. Reached for comment, Juracek’s lawyer pointed Polygon toward a prepared statement. Juracek’s lawyer, Jonathan A. Winter, declined to provide further comment.

It will earn them more profit by setting it all on fire in a big pile.

If it wasn't BaNa I'd be interested in the whole thing, they own/have licences to a ton of franchises I like, Gundam first and foremost, but it's BaNa and they don't really know how to manage them. They'll do the bare minimum nevessary thinking to maximise profits but instead interest in this metaverse thing will fade fast, with execs scratching their heads in disbelief on why this happened.

****e logo and who gives a flying **** about the metaverse? People play games because they like the game, not because of who's in it.

The way they described it, it sounds like PlayStation Home. I mean, it's a lot a money to spend on what is in effect simply a Hub. This is particularly the case for Namco who's content goes through other companies UI's so you're not going to use their Metaverse equivalent solely to play Namco brands whilst ignoring the social functionality of the device you're on. It's literally just jumping on a buzzword.

Cancel it and spend some of the money on Ridge Racer VIII instead.

There is absolutely no way on god's green earth that Bandai Namco, of all people, with a measly £96m, are going to be able to create anything worthwhile whatsoever in terms of a 'metaverse'.
