I agree, I don't think there is any reason why Tears shouldn't run well on the Switch. I keep hearing on podcasts and on forums that this game needs a Switch 2 to reach its potential and yet I've seen nothing to suggest that's the case.

At least they can focus solely on the Switch hardware this time.
I'm playing BOTW on the Wii U and it's still a majestic beauty.

€18 per seat for the Super Mario Bros. Movie. I take back my estimations considering the tickets have been on sale for a while now and we practically have the whole IMAX to ourselves, no matter which day we pick.

If you set the Switch to 720p mode the slowdown around Korok Forest isn't half as bad.

Nintendo will now offer free out-of-warranty repairs for faulty Joy-Con to UK/EU/EEA/Swiss customers.

I'm not sure they fully get how Nintendo works there. EA though... oh, they're totally getting bought out soon

Trying to figure out how to deal with the Switch and our new TV.

We've got a new telly coming this afternoon to replace our older one, which after 10 years has developed a fault. Exciting times. However, I'm not sure how the Switch is going to work. In order to faciltate standing the TV, I had to get a new TV unit, so I got one of these:

This rustic TV bench is great for those who like an industrial style. The simple design and the mix of materials create a robust yet minimalist look.

However, the unit's width is approximately the TV's width (maybe 1-2" wider).

The prior unit we had was one of those ones where the TV used its wall-mount; rods came up from the back of the piece of furniture. This meant we had loads of room to stand the Switch on top of it. The new arrangement won't allow us to do this.

So fast-forward to today; I incorrectly assumed that we could like the Switch dock on its back and insert the Switch that way; I even thought it had rubber feet on the back for this purpose. Turns out I was wrong in this assertion.

We also got one of these...

This rustic shelf is made of metal and solid wood. A simple unit can be enough storage for a limited space or the foundation for a larger storage solution.

... which we're going to put to the left of the unit and back against the wall (the TV unit stands in front of a fireplace pillar). So we could put the Switch on those. However, my worry there is that the Joycon signals aren't fantastic and the TV might be between the dock and the viewer if you're not sat on the left side of the sofa.

First world problems, perhaps. But it's a shame Nintendo didn't design some solution to cater for users who need to put the Switch on a shelf like the PS3/4 etc.

Not having a go, but I'm not sure why it should be up to Nintendo to go out of their way like that. Surely that's for the home furniture makers like IKEA to do so?

I get you. But it's more that the standard shape will fit every console ever, from the GameCube, to the CDI, to the PS5. The Switch is the only console which requires you must stand it vertically (with enough room to slide the console in and out of the toast-rack, which means you need approximately 2x the height of the Switch in clearance, unlike the SNES/MD where you only pull the carts out maybe an inch).

I'm not having a go at Nintendo for this; it's just more that I need to resolve this and I'm trying to work out what to do.

And that works? That'll probably do it in that case. I was concerned the controllers would lose connection.

Yeah my Switch dock is completely behind my TV. Works fine. Although I never use the JoyCons wirelessly and always use the Pro pad.

I had my switch behind the TV and the joy-cons kept dropping out so I guess you're not going to know if it works or not until you try... maybe the pro controller has significantly better signal/connection? I don't know as I've never owned one.

I found it really annoying because I didn't want the switch in plain sight because my kids would destroy it. In the end I moved the switch to the side but like I said, not ideal.

Mine's tucked down on the floor, half obscured by a combination of my TV stand and a chimney breast. Not had any issues with Joy-Cons or Pro Controllers disconnecting. Like Nonny says, it will probably just depend on your set up and you might need to move things about a bit if you have issues.

I like this, is there any interference with controller signals through the metal? And yes the switch is absolutely crap for figuring out where exactly it’s going to go, it just doesn’t fit anywhere nicely.
