I need to revisit Pikmin 4 at some point, I did start it but bounced off it fairly early on. It seems like another well made entry but despite how long it takes Nintendo to make them I always feel like the Pikmin games are some of the most iterative feeling games they do from their first party line up. It's been 10 years since the third game but on starting Pikmin 4 boredom set in very quickly. It's a purely me thing and I want to try it again because I know the game is solid, but at the same time I wouldn't mourn if they moved onto something new instead of a fifth game.

Wario arrives tomorrow, hopefully. I missed Super Mario RPG back in the day and never got around to it on emu/VC/MiSTer. I've just always had loads of other stuff I'd rather prioritise whenever it surfaces.
Next year at some point, maybe. Spring looks pretty dry so far.

From the few people I know have it so far it’s meant to be a lot better than the last one which to be honest wasn’t that great. I finished the main story then never went back as it was boring the first time ever I haven’t 100% one. The game mechanic was gimmicky but not in a fun way I found it more frustrating than anything else.

Our delivery was botched. It must have been absolutely shagged hard if DHL decided it wasn’t in a fit enough state.
A bit sick of this now really. It’s almost a guarantee that all our deliveries are damaged, overly late, or both. For the next console we’re going fully digital - not left with any other choice really.

Another day to feel old. Reading a thread on Era where people discuss what is the most OMG announcement in Nintendo history and the number of people citing things like character announcements in Smash Bros or Twilight Princess being announced is, I presume, a depressing reflection of how old I'm becoming.

That wasn't really a surprise announcement either, to be fair. More a trade show where everyone knew about what was going to be shown well in advance. IIRC the final official unveiling of the N64 on those dates was spectacularly overdue. Things moved so fast back then.
I can't think of my one biggest "OMG!11 megat0n!!" moment. Maybe the 3DS, followed a couple of years later by the Link Between Worlds announcement.

Was it 95? I'm getting so old, I remember it being later on in high school life
To me it was, whilst we knew the reveal was coming the actual footage (and then seeing in person) was a KO moment almost no-one has been able to replicate ever since. Despite 3D already existing it was often in the confines of what 2D had laid out, the N64 announcement shattered that.

It was the same during the NES days when they had practically complete market dominance.
They officially put out their sales figures: https://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/fin...oft/index.html

I mean besides the first party titles and the possibility we're going to see the next Mario 3d title launch with the hardware you can assume Microsoft is going to put COD onto the platform as promised and we're probably not going to see half baked efforts for other major titles as well.
Maybe EA will even support it properly...?
