Another oddity for the switch, a guitar game but not a rhythm one it's basically a guitar tutor so it's designed to actually try making you play properly. The controller is pretty funky looking though, a curio but not one i'm prepared to blow 11,000yen on.

I see Dave the Diver is getting a physical release, but where? I can’t find it for pre order or for sale anywhere?

        Amazon UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/DAVE-DIVER-...ref=mp_s_a_1_1

        Amazon JP: https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/デイヴ・ザ・...V21/ref=sr_1_1

FWIW I had a pre-order for it on the JP site which has just shipped today, whereas the UK release seems to still be another month out.

Thanks, that would not come up under any search on Amazon.

It would be very easy for me to do the "lol can't use Amazon" dance right now, but I had the exact same issue - however I remembered seeing importaku posted the link in another thread the other day so went back to find it there instead. Hilariously searching "dave the diver" works just fine on the Japanese site though.

Amazons search engine is broken it will not find some stuff even if you type out the exact title both on the uk and Japanese ones. Nowadays I just goto the switch games section and click the filter option on uk one to show releases in next 90 days. On jpn side I can do the same but select available for preorder it finds alsorts that don’t show up from regular searching. Weirdly amazon japan has a bunch of USA switch preorders direct from them, I just recently grabbed a shmup that they listed.

its why I post links sometimes of certain interesting stuff as saved people the hassle of trying to locate it.

I know it's old but you can't blame Nintendo for Gamefreak's consistently cheap-n-nasty coding. There are many much more demanding games that run on the system just fine, like Doom Eternal.

Pokemon is a shared franchise, though. Not willing to give second parties all their tech even when tasking them with their characters (like they don't with Good-Feel) is already questionnable, they could at the very least direct Gamefreak to avoid a yearly schedule and give some technical assistance in optimising an engine, whether developed in-house or off-the-shelf like Unity or Unreal.

Are Nintendo really hands off with optimisation of Pokemon games now? Really?, I mean let’s face it it’s gong to sell anyway, but gamefreak clearly need help here.

It wouldn't surprise me, the Switch can definitely handle the games fine so I don't feel Switch 2 is going to help in that regard. Maybe it's a case of the money means they don't need to delay titles, Nintendo having their staff tied up to their own games and Game Freak knocking them out 10 a penny so they're straight into the next release rather than taking longer with the current one.

Giving Nintendo a pass for the lack of QA that leads to the poor coding of flagship games in a franchise that they are the majority stakeholder of is wild.

That's fair enough. I didn't know - and tbh still don't fully understand - the extent of actual obligation Nintendo owe to QA this one particular franchise. The larger point, however, i.e. saying that the Switch needs to be mothballed because Pokemon runs like **** on it, still does not stack up with me.

You really don't think that Nintendo - again, the majority stakeholder of the Pokémon Company, the entity that governs the multi-billion dollar Pokémon franchise, and therefore the de facto ruler of the franchise who makes the final decision on anything Pokémon related - should have run any sort of quality control on what Game Freak were doing?

If you really think that, then cool. My point still stands though.
