Looks like you were just in time and Argos have now sold out

Stock must have been going up and down for a bit as people dithered while having one in the basket, as I managed to get one at 20 past 1. Showing as sold out now though.

Expecting at least one of you to beta test this thing with a variety of region games on uk release lol. Nintendo should have really done better to get all these questioned covered.

In the meantime ill watch from the sidelines while i count the days till fantasy life gets released next month.

Switch 2 is a comparative bargain compared to Switch 1 it appears - whilst the wording used around the Japan only version of the console seems to suggest that is the only region locked model

I reckon it isn't region locked at all but rather language locked. Remains to be seen though.

I ended up getting an order at Argos for the Mario Kart World bundle around lunchtime.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, Eurogamer have confirmed that the JPN-only Switch 2 is region-locked.

Don't know about software side, but what I read seem to imply that the hardware was region-locked.

I'm at the point of just waiting and seeing what's what when people actually get their hands on hardware, tbh.

DK looks great. I'm a little nervous about Mario Kart being open world tbh; I just want to race. Ridge Racer looks like it's exclusive to the Switch 2 which will suck if I don't end up getting one at launch. Looking forward to seeing some gameplay of Kirby Air Riders.

They kept saying the mouse feature was intuitive but it feels like another gimmick to me. I have no interest in that.

Yeah this caught me out as well. You do need to pre-order it from Nintendo's store if you want that GameCube Controller (and I do), but I saw the info on the previous page about it being invite only so I'm not sure if that will work out.

I think the invite, or rather invite to register your interest is a US only thing, here I think you just need to have 50 hours gameplay and have NSO for the last 12 months. Could be totally wrong though.
