The problem the S has was its not built with scale in mind, they took a point in time and sold it as the X's 1080p 30fps little brother. When the series X doesn't hit native 4k and 60 fps where do you go to? We've seen loads of games not able to hit native 4k 60 on X, so for the S its just gonna get worse and worse.Last edited by Lebowski; 02-08-2023, 15:28.Comment

This is hardly a new thing; have people forgotten the PS4/PS4 Pro, Xbox One/Xbox One X already? The latter of these had substantially different specifications in terms of memory configuration and GPU performance, similar in fact to Series S/Series X - suddenly this has become an insurmountable problem?
I'm dubious.
In software dev we have to cater for massively different configurations all the time, it's part of the job.Comment

The difference is, the S and the X where released side by side, the S has the double whammy of lower fps and lower resolution this makes the gulf between the systems massive. MS have at least for the moment removed gamepass ultimate from Bing/website redeem shop. Seems this has happened before, but most messages reporting it to MS forums seem to think they'll hike the reward prices then put it back on. Turned my xbox on to see the redeem shop in there and it's only available on auto-redeem from the first of the next month for 10500 reward points, which isn't terrible but i'd be without GPU for a month starting tomorrow unless i spend £11 or redeem gift cards (looks like a point loser to me £10 is 11,500pts).
MS trying to make my free-ride a right hassle now

It's a bumper year for fighting games. Iron Galaxy just announced they're bringing an update to Killer Instinct for the 10 year anniversary which brings balancing updates, improved matchmaking and 4K support for the Series S/X...
