Wasn't on my radar but watching the Helldivers 2 previews, strikes me as Gears of War horde mode meets EDF. So I've pre-ordered. Though friendly fire being on and me playing with randos via match making is a scary prospect 😅Comment

Maybe. Steel Battalion: Line of contact did. It was the first thing I'd check in the morning each day. I remember the excitement when one morning and new faction of mercaneries showed up on the map, and with them the availability of new VTs! There are also rumbles that Indiana Jones will be making the transition at some point. The recurring pattern at the moment seems to be theat Bethesda titles will start to make their way to PS5 at some point. We know Bethesda weren't entirely wowed by becoming fully exclusive, I can imagine that the arrival of COD etc has helped them to leverage the case for their own games to not be restricted either.
The question is whether titles will hit in sync with Xbox or whether they will get 12 months exclusivity on Xbox first etc.Comment

I can’t imagine it will ever be a day and date situation, delayed launches at best for PS5 and the titles probably won’t ever be available for Sonys all in subscription either, better than nothing though.Comment

Buying up third party publishers and making them exclusive to Xbox was only ever going to work if Microsoft saw a massive increase in its units sold. it's just come out of a Christmas period with really strong software support for its console but one of its worst sales periods since 2011. It's not a downtrend in the market, as it's rivals Sony and Nintendo are seeing really strong sales of its consoles, Sony increased its lead in this period.
The money people at Microsoft will be looking at what these companies did as multi-platform developers and what they are doing now as a Microsoft exclusive dev and theirs no way they're doing as well when you've cut out a massive market that you used to be able to sell too. It may be too late for Starfield, though launch hype is a massive thing and it's hard to recapture that unless the plan is too launch it with its DLC as a game of the year type version.
