I'm no Sony warrior, I've owned every xbox prior to this generation.

The argument that it is hard to justify a PS5 over an Xbox simply cannot hold up to any scrutiny.

As Tobal said PC is the winner, though a) I generally dislike (non tactical RPG) gaming on PC and is the main reason why I haven't finished Starfield and b) not all Sony exclusives are on PC and the ones that do generally have a long wait

Now you've said it I agree it has a very Tenchu look and feel to it... I knew it looked familiar and I couldn't put my finger on it.

I don't think anyone is trying to justify one over the other... I see the value in any of these platforms but as mentioned back a page or two I think it gets difficult to justify owning another platform when you primarily play on another.

If you play mostly on Xbox then at the moment it's fairly slim pickings on PlayStation and vice versa. Equally PC is probably the best of everything provided you're patient enough to wait for the lead time on some releases.

I guess what I am saying is I see if from everyone's perspective here. There's no wrong or right decision it's just up to you what franchises and ecosystem features you enjoy the most.

Sounds good. Frame rate looks clean. Could be 60fps? I feel like I've invested enough of my brain time to wanting this to be good that I am awaiting for a big bowl of disappoint. Hope not

Yep, both systems are incredibly close in value because they share content to such a high level and standard. The discussion wasn't that Xbox is worthwhile and PS5 isn't, just that Sony themselves are becoming complacent in what they're releasing for the system themselves.

That supposed PS5 gameplay vid is definitely running at 60fps, someone found a comment from the devs discord that its 4k 30fps or 1080p 60fps on PS5, hopefully that's true.

Their only being complacent in peoples eyes (on here) because they have started releasing on PC as well, many of us have a PC here as were older and have the means to have that, so if they do release on PC as well were like, why do i need a PS5 then? but that's a very small cross section of games our situation, its just not the norm, the vast vast majority have just 1 console.

Otherwise if you have just a PS5, its been a good gen so far.

The PC releases have definitely fuelled the remakes/remasters but given the delay in launch dates for PC it doesn't hugely affect PS5. There's just a shortage of new tentpoles from Sony on their console. That being said, despite not being convinced of it from the vids I'm going to play the optimist card and dice roll on Helldivers 2. It's priced well so hopefully it's a safe gamble

Maybe Sony have a plan that doesn't line up with your high expectations and so comes off as complacent? I'm sure they're not sitting there sipping eggnog patting each other on the back. I'm sure there's a lot of games in development, but they're taking their time with them? Sony's first party output is usually pretty good quality.

There's an element of expectation, definitely based on Sony's own past as taking PS2/3/4s corner was easy. Frustration has become stronger the longer this generation goes on with their studios in some cases not even getting their first game out the gate. I think I've reached a point where I no longer think they're keeping stuff unannounced, I now suspect more that they've struggled to get things through development efficiently. Hopefully later this year they'll line things up well for 2025/2026 before this gen starts winding down

Fixed now, the interview also reveals that The Last of Us Part III will end up likely as a PlayStation 6 release as nothing but story concept has been done on it yet

                                That’s mad.

Although these past few years has produced some epic games, honestly, I can’t think of any titles aside from Gran Turismo 7 and Halo Infinite, that have excited me on PS5 & Xbox Series S.

This generation has been a useless jump for me, with the Nintendo Switch still powering stunning games, I don’t see why we need a PS6 or a Xbox Series T. I would rather we stay on PS5 & XSS so developers could actually make some good ****ing games!
