DF speak to Mark of Cerny Computer Entertainment Limited dot Com Enterprises and Isomniac's tech lead about PS5 Pro in a bit more detail...

    Comment

I think the one thing PS5 Pro has highlighted is the lack of technical chops from some devs, and the sheer inability to make a stable game.

Respawn, Ubisoft, Blooper, im looking at you, your games are technically CRAP and that’s on you, not the hardware.

Bungie’s Strategic Partnerships team has officially transitioned to PlayStation’s Franchise Development division, marking another step in Bungie’s deeper integration with Sony.

Bungie can’t say they weren’t warned as per their contract, fail to perform and you get absorbed.

Ahh, now I wants a PS5 disc drive, but I don't think they're in stock on this planet or dimension. Anyone know which dimension I could bend into or which planet has stock?

Sony's next tech? Moving past the headset

Sony has reportedly cancelled two more first party titles in development. The first is another project from Bend whilst the second is the non-remake title from Bluepoint that they have been working on for several years. The scale of the wasted money, talent and time is that Sony had both working on live service titles with Bluepoints reported to be a live service God of War title.

Just what the actual Sony? BluePoint of all studios, working on a gaas God of War title? Just wow. I know they were heavily involved with GOW Ragnarok but to waste them on a gaas game its a spectacular fail.

I'm glad these gaas games are failing so badly, hopefully it pivots Sony back to what they should be doing, like Nintendo, instead of f*****g around with possible magic beans.

Someone senior has really - really ****ed up in there commissioning all these projects that have now cost them hundreds of millions or more and amounted to very little whilst also draining their big title system sellers lineup. The definition of trying to chase easy money when the notion that the industry in anyway could sustain many GAAS titles was always obviously a stupid one - let alone trying to produce so many within a single company.

I don't mind the odd gaas game. I enjoyed the Division games, for example. This news screams of some business div rocking up at Sony, with gaas on the tip of their tongue and just mixed in one of Sony's biggest characters thinking that was the "winning formula". They need someone grounded who embodies the very essence of Playstation stand up and say "NO!"

All it takes is to pretend you're a nobody, go on Reddit and post a poll saying, "would you play, pay and stay on a GaaS GoW game?". The response would have been enough to indicate that it probably was a big risk coz only 3 people said they would and they were Xbox trolls (rightfully so).

I find it offensive that people get hired for thinking up this shize, thinking this is what we want.

I would have thought a Horizon MMO would be the one that would fit, but that reads like there’s more than 1 Horizon mmo?

Astonishing that so much dev talent across this entire console generation has been pissed away with nothing to show for it. Not sure how much pull he really had, but Jim Ryan was such a consummate bell end for being the public face of advocating all this as the direction forward.

I think they saw it as their golden parachute. Release a couple of GAAS games and all your massive budget issues go away as you just milk the same titles again and again. All whilst failing to recognising how few actually work out. Revive the first part AA already
