There are reports of people getting their copy early all over the doom 3 fan sites.

Hopefully we can get our copies early then, or have I spoken to soon

The only problem is that I expect copies to be appearing all over the net tomorrow :/

I am just pissed off that american has it, don't really care about people who download it.

Got to give id / Activision a certain ammount of credit that it hasn't been leaked already.

You can almost hear all those script kiddies banging their heads against their keyboards right now as they try to the first to crack the copy protection.

Well, since it is now out on retail (in some stores) it didn't take long for it to appear on BT - which it did this morning.

I'm not touching it with a bargepole.

So, is anyone going to download it if you have it on order but can't be bothered waiting another week or two? With stores in the US selling it already, its a pain in the backside that we have to wait.

Just found this at Eurogamer :-

The spectre of Internet piracy loomed over id Software this morning, as the first hacked verisons of Doom III began to appear across the web - days ahead of the long-awaited game's US release, and 12 days head of its European release.

It's not yet known if the file, which was uploaded earlier today, is the full game, but with duplication having commenced several weeks ago, many felt that it was inevitable that such a sought after game would find its way onto illegal download sites and newsgroups ahead of its official release.

If the file is indeed the full game, the potential damage to sales of the game could be huge. Activision and id were unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.

A sure fire portent of whats to come with Half Life 2 as well. When will they learn that worldwide releases at the same time is the only way to go
