I guess this is probably the best place to ask. Just got a brand new 3G iPod Nano and I'm having trouble finding a suitable case for it. Anyone have a nano and able to provide some feedback on cases? My only 2 requirements are that I should be able to access the buttons as I would on the nano normally (i.e. not a iPod sock or wallet type thing) and that it shouldn't add too much to the form of the nano.

Yeah, had a look at that before. A lot of people on ilounge seem to either love it or hate it, as it slightly darkens the screen. Just wanted a bit more input from anyone with actual experience. I've ordered that anyway. Thanks.

ScummVM just came out for the iPhone/iPod Touch, I got a few funny looks playing sam and max hit the road in my networking lectures!

For anyone looking for silicone covers there are a few on Amazon for 1p. Seem to do the job without a problem.

I've noticed the accelerometer doesn't work if you aren't holding it vertically (i.e. you have it on a desk or something), slightly annoying but doesn't really matter.

Overall I'm loving my touch and would definitely recommend it.

Nice, thanks for the heads up on ScummVM. Installed it on my touch, the build I have has to be played in portrait mode which is unfortunate, switching to landscape crashes the app (and it's pretty damn sensitive).

Looks like there's regular releases though.

that was a bug in only the earliest version, in my experience u can rotate any way up you like, and you even get the keyboard in portrait mode (handy for typing save names etc)

Can anyone confirm/deny that they have volume capping on the new ipod classics please? Heard rumours about volume being too low which might be a problem as the place of work I'm thinking of using one in has quite a lot of background noise.

The volume level on the iPod Touch is incredibly low. Using one in a car can be difficult.

It's significantly lower than the old 5Gs.

No idea on the Classic though, sorry.

Just a heads up, the Apple store (online defo, bricks and mortar apparently) have a bit of a sale on mimicking the US's 'Black Friday' though is far more limited in what's discounted. Anybody looking to buy iPods (except the touch) should have a look. Accessories are also discounted and there's a few bits and bobs for Mac which are also reduced for today only. I saved £11 on the iPhone bluetooth headset!

Also, how is the browser, is it usable ? I've heard about jailbreaking the touch, how risky is it ? Plus, is the mail app anygood once jailbroken...?

The browser is superb on the whole. Sometimes you touch links that you may not want but as an alternative to lugging a pc around, it is great. I am writing this on my touch for example.

Safari on a Touch or iPhone is leagues ahead of the PSP's clunky browser. So much quicker, more reliable, and with the touch screen the interface is much better too.

Once jailbroken, the mail app (on the touch obv. as you get it as standard on the iPhone) is awesome. Really good. Comes with default server settings for a few of the more popular (gmail, aol, etc...) servers, but you can set your own up if you prefer. Really rather good mobile email client.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated guys. Anyone of you have any lcd problems with yours ? Is there any sign of a bit of blur like the psp on videos ? One last thing, i noticed Dabs.ie have the 8GB for ?265 and the 16GB one for ?349. Anyone recommend dabs, or would the piece of mind of buying it down town be better ?

I've been tempted to pick one up for week...
