I did a controlled test on my 1 year old 3G iPod (40GB) and it performed exactly as Apple says it should.

Ahoy, I'm getting a new PC for christmas, so would I be right in thinking that if I install my pod on it, I'll loose all the songs? I've heard of copy pod though, where you can put all your songs on your ipod onto the PC's hard drive. Has anyone used this before? The only reason I ask is, because I can see myself throwing my ipod in the bin when I foolishly set it up wrong and I loose all my songs! If you've used it if you could give me some instructions that would be great, do you have to have Itunes installed for it to work etc!?!

Anyone had for for longer who has used it continuously?
cheers
My missus wasn't so lucky, however. Her battery has started losing it's charge now (the warranty expired 2 months ago). And she's used hers far less than I've used mine.

All it ever did for me was duplicate every single entry on my iPod. I use Ephpod, that lets copy music from your iPod to your PC, drag n drop songs, etc. It's a piece of piss to use and it's never done my iPod over.

Oh my god, i got one of these for Christmas and... well.. it?s such an incredibly sexy, easy to use, handy little beast that has took me by surprise and then some.
It?s perfect for everything I need it for. Its small enough to fit in my coat pocket whilst walking in town, or to hold when i go for a run or keep in my trouser pocket when I workout at the gym...
Absolutely love it to pieces. I have around 200 odd tunes on there at the moment and have barely touched my storage! ^_^

It's 4Gig, not 4 Meg!
And personally, I wouldn't be able to manage with less than the 20gig, but then again I have 500+ albums, and get more all the time. If you're the sort of person with only a few albums then you'll be fine with the mini. Then again, IMO it's just a fashion accessory for those people. Or something. Not that the full size one isn't a fashion accessory, it's just got more intrinsic usefulness.
Umm.
Basically, the price difference is small enough and the size difference small enough to warrant saving up the extra money to get the bigger one.
I think.
