Okay, I haven't read through the topic, so sorry if this has been answered already, but I seem to remember some of you owning US iPods. A friend of mine in the UK wants a US one but isn't sure where to get it from. Can some of you US Pod owners suggest places other than eBay, if there are any?Comment

Can anyone tell me the cheapest place to get hold of a contour iPod showcase? Im currently in the states, and the official RRP over here is $45. Extortionate I reckon.

I got my second Ipod replacement today and all seems well so far.
Ive been asked about the external speakers for the Ipod, Ive found the Altec Lansing ones but they seem expensive at ?110. Also, does Apple do their own external speakers?Comment

I was in California this week and brough back 10 iPods all sold to chums
I played with the mini in the Apple store [3 apple stores in Santa Clara were completely sold out as was CompUSA and Fry's of the mini] and the two of the five in the store display were crackly, the woman in the store said they'd had a few back but expected Apple to fix whatever was wrong soon, the delay for launch has been caused by a lack of hard drives from hitachi.

Depends on what floats yer boat I think. I bought a nice base unit and speakers for ?65 from the apple stores. Works wickedly on my ipod and more specifically my ibook (Which was the main reason I bought them).Originally posted by marcus

On the mac you just drag and drop any image files into the album art box.
I've seen some applescripts that automate this for you too...Comment

Most of what you hear is true but it's often very exagerated...
The truth is that iPods are decent enough but their battery life is terrible, looking at them let alone touching them scratches them and they don't sound as good as iRivers or Creative Zens
Having said that I *heart* mine, not because it's a fashion accesory or anything... I think I'l just a sucker for Apple stuff.Comment

I didnt think it would ever happened but iv filled my 15GB iPod. Iv had it since August so thats only 9 months and its full... hmm...
I now am on the look out for a 40GB iPod which i never thought i would be doing. Is there any other way to get a higher capacity one without selling mine? I heart it.
Would be cool if i could put a 40GB hard drive in to my 15GB instead of me having to sell this one and get a new one though. Its got all my music on it !!Comment

, You can't change the HDD - I assumed you were being facetious anyway.The 40Gig is thicker becuase it has a larger driver remember, so when you get your new iPod, it won't be as small... a little thicker to accomodate the larger drive.
Enjoy the extra room though... tbh, I can't see how it's possible to use up a whole drive unless you are a serial downloader... You much buy a hella-lotta music otherwise. Which is cool. I wish I could afford that!

I dont actually download any music. I have been quite excited by the new legal Napster, MyCokeMusic etc etc but due to none of them being compatible with the iPod i am waiting very patiently until the iTunes comes out in Europe. When its out i am probably going to have to buy another 40GB iPod because i just cant physically wait for iTunes. I'm already saving up at the prospect.
Anyways to update you all i last night won on eBay a 40GB Sealed iPod from a powerseller in the US. It came to a grand total of $416 for a 40GB iPod which i am sure you will agree is laughably good value. In ? it is ?229.67 and bear in mind they are ?400 here i am one incredibly happy chappy. Ok so there is shipping of $35 on top of that but still it comes to $451 = ?248.93
I paid more than that for my 15GB iPod, the absolute cheek!Comment
