Do you know if this set is NTSC 60hz/ PAL 50/60hz compatible with both standard def and progressive scan modes?
This is the main thing holding me back from buying this TV at the moment.
Hope you can help.8)

Hey guys!
Well i decided on this set:
http://www.samsung.com/au/products/t...?page=Features
However i need a few questions answered.
Can it output Prog Scan in both 50Hz and 60-Hz???
And what is the highest signal prog scan it will go 720p, 1080i??? Its resolution is 1366 x 768.
Thanks a lot!!!Last edited by Cuber001; 10-08-2005, 01:38.

Given it's got a huge HD-Ready logo on there, it's required to be compatible with all HD modes in both 50 and 60Hz anyway.

I think the 1080i will be rescaled though as it doesn't have the resolution to support it natively.

hi guys
i just got the 32inch samsung and tried soul caliber via the hi def pack it looks great but it is presented with a pillarbox look i.e. with black bars on either side of the screen.
It is a pal version of the game running in ntsc via the enigmah videoswitcher.
Does it look like this because it is'nt an NTSC version of the game?
Sorry if this is a daft question but I'm not too clued up on these things at the moment
cheers

No issues with the 480p supported games, just the handful of PAL games that have had the 480p support stripped out of them will be unplayable.Last edited by fahrenheit; 14-08-2005, 22:23.
