Dunno if I can do that. I'll have to see if its possible. Would it be in the menu options somewhere?
Can I ask what is 100Hz better for over a 50Hz?

Oh & thanks for the advice man.

100hz is supposed to help make motion smoother on LCDs - whether it does or not or whether you appreciate the additional artifacts (and input lag) that it incurs is another question.

Yeah I just read something about it filling in the gap between shots to avoid flicker. I went round my bro's last night to check out his 50Hz version. he's got it running on 'Optimal Resolution' on his options on his 360, which gives him a screen of 1360 x 768, whereas when I try that with mine it goes straight to 1080p, with no option of 1360 x 768.

Still trying to find out if I can drop it down to 50 Hz. If I cant it'll be going back as I cannot play anything online with this delay, & thats the main reason I bought it.

Sounds like he's using VGA if he gets that resolution (or he's running his HDMI port in PC mode, essentially making it into a DVI port). VGA usually disables any processing as standard. The same should apply to the HDMI port when running in PC/DVI mode.

For some material it works amazingly e.g. wildlife documentaries. Mine usually looks great for most stuff actually but for some reason Blade Runner looks extremely weird with the 100Hz mode on

The new info on the Panasonic VT range with the Kuro tech has persuaded me to hold off buying for a little while.

I think I can take or leave 3D at the moment but the prospect of better blacks and all the talk of the tech eliminating phosphor trails seems like it might be worth waiting for (or at least putting the money I would have spent towards it).

Interesting. I'm not bothered by the 3D either but the other stuff is promising. Dread to think what the price is going to be...

I cant really justify the V10 at the moment so this may come around at just the right time.

The price is not going to be horrendous. This is Panasonic, after all.

When I asked their tech guy about phosphor trails (just for you Anephric), he claimed that they were gone instead of just reduced. I doubt that, but if they're down to the level of the Pioneer Kuros then it should all be good.

Any word on when we're expecting to see these sets in the UK Lyris?

People seems to be guessing at around April, which just seemed to be earlier than I was expecting. I got the feeling it would be towards the end of the year (dunno why).

Hmm my local comet has the 42v10 in stock for £1100, sooo tempting they have the z10 on display too but that's a bit too pricey...

Around April is probably more correct. The European stuff isn't finalised yet (everything at CES was made in reference to the US models) but it should be in Spring. I get the idea that they are absolutely worth hanging on for: from what I've seen, they're basically Pioneer Kuro panels with 3D support. But let's wait and see...

I don't know where the information is coming from but it looks like the new V range will come in two forms: 3D and not 3D. The V20 will be non-3D at 37, 42 & 50 inch and the V25 will be 50, 55 and 60 inch with 3D.
Both varients have the Kuro screen.

No idea how true that is but it sounds good to me. I imagine 3d will put the set out of my price range!

Supposedly it's not going to be as expensive as you might think...

I knew that someone, somewhere, must love me.

What's a good response time for an LCD set when I'll mainly be watching TV through a Humax Foxsat box so SD mainly but a couple of HD channels in 1080p. Other uses will be upscaled DVD's and Wii.

I've seen a couple of sets, some say response time not available, one is 8ms one is 5ms. Is 3ms going to be a noticeable difference?
