Yo Rossco, does the LG have builtin Freeview?

    Comment

      No sadly not.

I'm not find the RGB bad at all on any of the consoles to be honest, easily as good as my last TV.

Bit more expensive than the Dell and not wide-aspect but it's 1600x1200 as opposed to 1680x1050 so more screen real estate.
Thanks recipher, that does look nice but it's stretching my budget somewhat. I've got in the region of ?360 to play with. The Dell is getting mixed reviews some sites say it's got a low ms rate others say it's really high

          I'll keep hunting ^ ^

That must be out of date. That TV isn't even HD ready.

That's the one I have, and that's just a little less than what I paid for it back in 2004. Very good LCD, but the new Sonys are better in every way (except maybe for having worse speakers).

The model numbers to Google for are:

V Series (the deluxe versions with WEGA Engine - worth the extra)

                  KDL-V26A12U
                  KDL-V32A12U
                  KDLV40A12U

S Series (the cheaper versions, but with VGA inputs, no WEGA)

                  KDL-S26A12U
                  etc...

Try homecinematv.co.uk They've got the new Sony's with the model numbers Lyris said. Also, John Lewis do them too, with 5 year warranty.

I got mine from comet.com for ?1460 almost ?400 off the usual price mine's the V32. I guess that's not exactly in everyones price range though but still, don't buy the Samsung! Buy anything HD Ready other than that! I don't see why people settle for an average/flawed tv when they can have a tv with a better image and, IMO, looks better than that plasticy look around the samsung TV, it stops the immersion effect for me.

Synth, whats the RGB quality of your Sony?

Cant see myself spending ?1400 when I can get 2 of the 26" LG Screens that has got good reviews on here.

remember folks that to be HD ready TV's just need 720 lines and HDCP compliance...

Ok. So I'm looking at buying a HDTV for the 360 I've got preordered. Either the 32" Samsung based on the reviews on here or possibly one of the Sony's - I want at least 32" as thats what my current CRT is and I couldn't stomach downsizing.

My question is are HDTVs like LCD monitors? If I run my XBox or GameCube on it or a normal DVD will it have that horribly blurred look to it due to scaling up?

If answers can be kept in words of one sylabble that would help. Outside the world of PCs I really am an idiot when it comes to technology.
