No. Japanese companies do not gift extra features, unfortunately. For 3D you'll have to buy the V20.

There is also at least one technical reason which prevents it. Panasonic have developed new faster decaying phosphor material which is in the V20, which basically cuts down on the yellow and green flashes you sometimes see on PDP TVs during fast motion. The reason for this is that it was causing crosstalk between the left and right 3D images and had to be improved for this to work convincingly.

Hmm.... This new fast decay phosphor.... Will it be arriving in their plasma monitors any time soon? The green flash is the only downside of mine PH9. I don't really notice it any more, but gaming would be better without it.

Well my G20 got moved to be delivered today and i wasn't at home (but they had phoned to arrange the new date/time before hand), but my dad signed for it. When I got back home to my shock I noticed they've delivered a S20 instead!

Not sure what i can do now really because my dad didn't check the model number (why would he need to), but he has now signed to say we accepted a delivery of a G20. However on the box it does give the details of someone esle (order no., address, plus some other stuff), so am gonna ring up Dixons (who i got it from) tomorrow morning (they were closed by the time i got back) and see what they say. Hopefully they'll see that the driver made a mistake when making the delivery and simply pick it up and replace it with the correct model!

Kit - I didn't bother with the slides but I'm still being careful. Not been able to get sound working over USB but haven't tried recently, there is a lot of demand on AVForums for increased format support with USB, so hopefully Panasonic will respond.

Regarding Dixons delivering the wrong set - they surely have no choice but to replace?

They will replace because the bottom line is you are entitled to a complete refund using the 7 daycool off mail order/internet law.

worst case is you will have to pay for courier back to Dixon's, although I would not accept that myself.

Why should you have to pay anything? They sent you a cheaper TV when you paid for a better one!

He shouldn't. The mistake is theirs and they should pay to rectify it - if they try that crap stand your ground.

The girl on the phone was very nice and apologetic, and she obviously knew they were in the wrong. They've arranged to have the TV picked up tomorrow and drop of the correct one at the same time

Suppose its a bit late now, but should have pushed for some kind of discount for poor service.

Seen 3D demo in Sony store in Barcelona covering wildlife, sports and video gaming. Interesting to see the different, but I don't fancy wearing glasses. Is it possible to watch 3D stuff without glasses.

I've seen prototype 3D TVs that don't need glasses (lenticular filter on screen) but it looks terrible. Supposedly the "real thing" will come, but for now the glasses are the best solution.

Looking to upgrade from a 32" to a 42" and looking at this model...seems to have good reviews, can anyone comment on it?

                        Comment

A colleague of mine happened to review the 32" version and it came out well. The 40" should be very similar.

Actually thinking I may go for this 40" instead now, love Samsung's and they have my trust.

I would just like to say that buying a TV is a frakin nightmare.

I want to get some sort of comparometer tool up and running so you can see a table of TVs, and sort them by Black Level quality (lower being better), Input lag, etc, and include pictures of the Greyscale tracking charts so people can look for themselves and pick the straightest-looking one. That would at least make the minefield easier...
