Samsung are totally unable to make enough of these TV's. Everywhere is out of stock with more "coming in soon" etc.
It sounds like they've been caught on the hop. Happens all the time. Electronic and PC items are complex things to manufacture and distribute. When you consider the price, the situation is understandable.
Disclaimer: I'm waiting on 2 sets too and I need them for an exhibition on the 23rd, or my customers will be watching some considerably smaller laptop screens.

Incidentally, there was a post on the avforums about the GD7, and how it is one of the fastest, if not the fastest panel (LCD) on the market. However, Sharp quote the response on it as 12ms. So don't worry about that. At the worst, both sets will have about the same response time.
I watched a movie on the set yesterday late at night, and was VERY thankful for the adjustable backlight. Dunno how much you like to watch TV late (or even game late) but it might be important. I tried hooking the set up to my PC briefly when I got it, but it was displaying a pretty poor image, with chequered boxes. I don't know if this was just me not configuring properly, but there is another guy over at avforums who has the same problem with his GA6 over VGA.
I'd say the Sharp is a very good alternative to the Samsung, and unless VGA is of utmost importance to you, I'd always choose the Sharp. Plus, it's easier to find.........

Here's what to do:
Pick the TV you really want.
Find somewhere who'll sell you one, whichever way you want to pay.
Wait until it's delivered (it's my guess that'll be less than 2 weeks).
Be patient.
In the grand scheme of things, 2 weeks isn't too long to wait. Fair enough, you've been waiting already but I'd just forget about that, there's nothing you can do about it now.

****, I'll just wait for the Samsung. As long as I have it for Dec 2nd I'll be happy. Although I spent all that money on cables for my current consoles that I'll probably hardly use since I wont have the damn thing until 360 is out!
I do prefer the look of the Samsung alot and I also want to hook it up to my PC so the VGA is a big thing for me and wouldnt want to buy the Sharp and have troubles with it.
Thanks anyway guys!
I'm just so god damn impatient, I hate waiting!!!
