I don't really want to be saving for months and months for it.
From a quick search on Froogle, last year's 9986 is down to around ?1600, so I doubt you'll see the 9830 at ?1200 any time soon.

If you like what Pixel Plus 2 HD does to an image, then the sets are worth the money, but I personally don't.

There are technologies like Ambilight 2.0, a motorized stand,
comes with an included wall mount, flat NXR monolith speakers etc, so you are getting a fair amount for your money.

It's disappointing that their "high end" sets only start at 32" too.

So with all these comments about the sammy failing, would it be wise to wait? Is there any LCD's of similar spec, quality and price that someone could recommend?

A few peeps on the EG forum have been bigging the Samsung set up, and remember, it's that series MS are using to promote the 360. The reason I'll probably go for them is like Shakey and others pointed out, the popularity of them means new series will be introduced at a higher price point sooner or later.

PeteJ, if you can up your budget by about a hundred quid you could look at either the JVC 32DS6 or the Toshiba 32WLT58.

Personally i've just about decided on the JVC. Yesterday i had a play with one and combined with the Oppo DVD player it produced superb PQ. Plus, for what its worth, the JVC website is stating it has a 7ms response time which is damn good. Yours for just over a grand.

            Right I need help!!

I just cancelled my WebElectricals order since they are being **** and now saying they're hoping for stock next week sometime and soundandvisiononline.com have them now. So I cancelled that and went to soundandvision and filled all the crap out, applied for finance and they declined based on the fact I only work 13 hours a week and not 16 even though I'm a student, which there was no way to take note of on the form. So now I'm without TV order and have no idea what to do as I cant find another site that has them in stock that offer finance and I dont have cash to pay for it now.

Did they actually say why they declined you? They aren't supposed to.

If you've been declined once, then you are probably sh*t out of luck, as it's unlikely you'll be approved by anyone else any time soon. You could try I suppose, but making too many finance applications in a short space of time (especially if you are declined) is v. bad for your rating (which in turn will make it harder to get approved).

You probably don't want to hear it, but you should have stuck with WE if they had approved you.

Most etailers don't have stock and they are all in the same boat, in that when the suppliers get some in, they'll all get stock at the same time.

Yeh I know I shouldn't have cancelled WE until I actually was approved by this one.

They didnt tell me, they had a list of things you needed to pass and that was the only one I didnt pass on, 13 hours part time instead of the minimum 16! It sucks majorly!

They actually had a shedload of the TV in stock too, thats why I rushed over to them. I'm either going to see if I can go back to WE, do you think that would work, I wouldnt get declined from them now would I after being accepted last week?

Or I'm going to see if my dad will go with soundandvisiononline under his name and I'll pay him in 2 months which he might just do!!

                Comment

It wouldn't be up to WE, I'm sure they'll want another sale. It's their finance company who decide whether to give you credit.

S&V use v12 for finance. It's a standard finance application, what gives you the idea that the 13 hours made the difference?

Your dad is the best option. Good luck.

I got mine from soundandvision, they were excellent, rang me a few times to tell the the status of my order

I'm going to cry! soundandvision have none in stock in at all and wont have any free until like December!! But the guy told me half an hour ago they have 15 waiting and 50 in next week. What a dick.

I'm now trying to go back to WebElec. I swear, if I dont get this TV soon, I'm going to kill someone!!!

They don't fail. The problem i had originally was that the main board inside would not update the firmware, other than that everything was fine apart from tearing obviously.

The problem now is either the new board that Sontec put in to sort this out either hasn't all been hooked up correctly, or that's got it's own problems. None of the problems have developed into the set failing.

If you can get a set now then go for it. Even with all these problems i'd still recommend the set just not the length it takes to sort out any problems. But even that's probably down to the popularity of the set as i imagine they want put all the boards inside new sets and not send them away as spare parts.

                              Sammy 26" Freeview.

Samsung are totally unable to make enough of these TV's. Everywhere is out of stock with more "coming in soon" etc.

@rossco: TBH, I would just say you spend the few extra ???'s with WE and get something else. Did I mention my GA6E is SUPERB It comes with free 3 years warranty too, so it's not all that expensive.
