    OH MY GOD!!!

Yesterday I spoke to WebElectricals and they said my TV went out for delivery on Friday and that 99% of the time, I would get it Monday(yesterday) So I give the key to the neighbour as I'm at uni and thats fine. Excited about my new TV all day, come home at 5, still not there, give them a call, and they say you've still got til 6 o'clock for deliveries so it should still come, if it doesn't you'll definitely get it tomorrow.
So I give them a call just there to make sure its coming today, and they say its not even been despatched yet since its still out of stock!!!!

After telling me just 24 hours previously, my TV was on a van going to my house!!? And now they can't say when it'll come, maybe tomorrow, maybe Friday. Its ****ing pathetic.

Dont know what to do, I cant see the deal that good with 0% 6 months finance anywhere else!!!?

That is a shame. Kick up a bit of a fuss, maybe you'll get some discount off the price? People might call me paranoid, but here is what I do for all major orders I place on the phone.

I place the phone on loudspeaker, and record (yes record) my conversations using my mobile phone. I usually get their name, my order no. etc. all in and do this for stock confirmation, order placement, delivery etc. Some of these firms are right old dodgy gits, so drastic actions are necessary.

Zooming on letterboxed stuff looks **** full stop.

On RE4, it's particularly bad simply because when you take out the boarders, your left with something the equivelent of 240 lines vertically. But chunky pixels =/ By comparison, the PS2 game being animorphic would retain the 480.

5 weeks on a day since my tv got taken away form my loving hands

Was told last tuesday i'd have it in a couple of days. Now i just phoned and she basically said:

"ohhh errr the person who normally deals with sending them out is away but there should of been someone doin it...errrr i'll get someone send it out tomorrow for you, you should have it the next day or day after"

Is it so hard just to send me my god damn tv

This happened to me when ordering my Samsung. The guy claimed it was coming on X day. I went in and he or the TV wasn't there, and the other guy said it hadn't even be ordered yet, and wouldn't be there for another 1-2 weeks. So I complained and threatened to take my money back and go elsewhere if it wasn't there the next day, and behold, next day at 2:30pm it was there.

With these groups, you have to take a stand, and show them your not afraid to take your money elsewhere. Be firm, but not rude, otherwise they won't care. Trust me, for the amount of money you are giving them, they will care, if not, they don't deserve your hard earned cash.

Well with WebElectricals, they offered me to cancel the order and go elsewhere so if I said that to them it wouldnt make a difference!

I'm mainly pissed off cause they said I would have it last week as it was in stock. If they just said out of stock, you'll get it in two weeks, I wouldnt mind, but this stupid lies saying its on its way when they dont even have any is pathetic and theres nothing I can do.

Mine gets delivered today. Bought via a scheme through work, mean I don't pay NI and 40% tax saving.

Hey R0ssco, I've not been reading this thread so sorry if it has already been mention a million times.

I order a Sony 28" CRT from Empire Direct a few months ago and they are TRUELY AMAZING!

I order it on the Thursday morning, the phone me the same day and asked if i could be in my flat the next day. i said yes and it arrived about 10.30am the day after ORDERING!

                    and i live in Scotland.

                    Totally amazing.

If they have it in stock then bin WebElectricals and go with ED.
Thats what i would recomend, i know what bad service is like. i ordered a JVC TV from Ebuyer a few weeks before the sony one and they were incompetant, really bad customer service and the TV was ****ed when i eventually got it.
Glad i went with ED instead.

The Samsungs are hard to locate currently, hence such shoddy service by some firms, although still no valid reason for doing so. On Avforums, there was someone who had been having problems with Waratah, who are considered to have an excellent track record. Surprise, surprise, the problem in question was with the Sammy LCD TV.

I guess this is flat panel TV related, so i'll ask my question here.

I'm just about to buy some speakers/reciever and i was going to go down the fairly cheap route and go for the Logitech Z-5500 setup which is basically the speakers and reciever in an all in one unit.

Over the last few days though i've read a few articles regarding lip sync issues when using flat panel TV's. Just wondering if anyone here has had these problems? From what i've read using an upconverting DVD player can make any problem worse. As i will be using the TV solely for my new Oppo DVD player (which i believe has a 50ms audio delay option) and Xbox 360 i don't want to get a big disappointment if i do indeed get this lip sync problem.

So, to go back to the start of my post, is it recommended to buy a dedicated AV Reciever instead which has an audio delay option? I would rather go the cheaper route but not at the expense of the problem.

                        Comment

There's an option in the service menu of my TV (LG 32LX2R), sound delay iirc, and it's set by default at 40 ms.

I've connected the TV sound output to the analog input of my Creative speakers. I assume that anything connected via Scart or audio inputs is slightly delayed, and indeed, there's no delay with the PS2 or GC.

However, I don't notice any relevant delay using the Xbox (optical cable) or DVD player (coaxial cable) neither.

Maybe the option works only for my interlaced sources (PS2/GC), where the deinterlacing process introduces a certain delay. Both the Xbox and DVD player send a prog scan signal.

Looks the business, and from what I hear its what the xbox 360 pods have been using on their tours

Any thoughts on the samsung guys? ive heard a few good things about them and im thinking 32" is probs the biggest you want to get to maintain good quality?

Well, I guess it is nice in theory, but the lights need to project around the whole room (somehow), not just in a linear sideways fashion they do here.

I do agree with what is said before that it is pretty much the best 32" around. Expensive mind, so much that I won't be getting one for myself...and I don't see the extra cost over other 32"'s being particularly worthwhile.
                                Curiously...this TV failed last night

Well, I say failed. What I actually mean is the ambilight is completely b0rked. I cursed it!
